Zumiez employees say Rayburn Hollis kept “getting bigger” as he packed on stolen clothing in dressing room

Employees at Zumiez at Opry Mills Mall say 37-year-old Rayburn Hollis was “acting real nice” to everyone as he browsed the clothing store last July… so much that employees were paying extra attention to him as he entered the dressing room. An employee tells police he “came out much large than he went into the dressing room.” As Hollis attempted to exit the store he was approached by employees and after a lot of “back and forth” he gave up $141 in clothing he had attached to himself in an attempt to steal. Hollis was issued a state citation for theft, for which he never appeared, and he was booked on the outstanding warrant this week.

Teen charged in assault of boyfriend & Opry Mills Nike Store Theft — Tyniya Givans

Police interviewed multiple witnesses, including Shemeka Eddie, Walter Welch, and Anniqua Steele. In the end, it was determined that the couple was in an argument on 14th Ave N inside a car. James eventually exited the vehicle, and his mother, Shemeka, agreed to drive Tynia home. At the time of her arrest, Givans was also booked on an outstanding citation for theft, from a November 2021 incident in which she was found to be fleeing the Opry Mills Nike store with $902 worth of merchandise she had just boosted. She made it to the parking lot and hid behind a car before being issued a theft citation at the time, for which she never self-booked on. She was given a $500 bond on each charge and posted bail the following day.

After Glenn Funk lets him walk on first charge, Colin Beason charged with stealing from another employer

28-year-old Colin Beason has, once again, been caught doing return fraud at a retail store that employed him. In 2019, we covered his felony theft arrest for pocketing $1800 in cash from fraudulent returns from GameStop. District Attorney Glenn Funk agreed to give him a deferred judgment with no conviction for that charge, and he moved on without a guilty plea on his record. Beason now works for Locker Room by Lids at Opry Mills Mall. Earlier this week, the store notified Metro Police they had determined Beason had stolen $4,718.30 in cash from fraudulent returns. Beason signed a confession in the case, and because of the prior deal with DA Funk, has no prior conviction. Beason, who studied finance at MTSU, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, charged with felony theft, and is free on a $2,500 bond.
