Cane Ridge High School Assistant Principal James Reese is on paid administrative leave after he violently took a student to the floor and restrained her during a fight in the gym on January 31. After Scoop: Nashville obtained a video of the incident, Metro Nashville Schools released a statement that reads, “a fight occurred in the gym at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31. Assistant Principal James Reese came into the gym and stopped the fight with the help of a substitute teacher. He was attempting to escort one of the girls out of the gym when the other one involved in the fight moved passed a substitute teacher and pushed them, knocking them to the floor. The AP got up and took that girl to the floor and restrained her to stop the fight from re-occurring.”

TSU maintenance request leads to felony drug charges for student Kellen Brabson

21-year-old Kellen Brabson faces felony marijuana possession charges after directors of the Ford Residence apartments at Tennessee State University responded to a maintenance request inside his room. As Mr. Wynn and Ms. Lewis entered the room, they reported smelling marijuana and decided to conduct a room inspection. They located multiple bags of marijuana, totaling 30 grams, scales, a grinder, bags, and edibles inside the room. TSU Campus police were called and determined that he was selling marijuana. Branson admitted to ownership of all the discovered items.

Renauld Clayton charged in downtown DUI, argues he passed field sobriety tests

Police say 35-year-old Renauld Clayton made an illegal u-turn at 11th & Broadway, just one block away from his home, just after 11 p.m. Wednesday. Officers conducted a traffic stop and reported immediately smelling alcohol as they approached the vehicle. He claimed not to have consumed any alcohol, but his female passenger claimed the smell was coming from her. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, despite arguing that he passed them all. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI. In 2020, Clayton was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison for his student loan fraud scheme at Tennessee State University, where he was an employee.

Robert Holmes charged with drug possession after DUI crash on Dickerson Pike

30-year-old Robert Holmes crashed his vehicle near Dickerson Pike and Grace Street late Friday night and admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. Social media posts show Holmes drinking with friends at a restaurant just prior to driving. Responding officers say he smelled of alcohol and had trouble standing and speaking coherently. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Holmes was taken into custody. A subsequent inventory search of his vehicle prior to towing resulted in the seizure of 9.39 grams of marijuana in a Tupperware container.

DUI: Darius Adams crashes after leaving Play Dance Bar Sunday Night, blows 0.136% BAC

Police say 21-year-old Darius Adams crashed a black Cadillac Escalade just after 4 a.m. Monday near Charlotte Pike and River Road. Adams was found asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was blocking a lane of travel, and the engine was running. An open can of Cayman Jack was in the center console, and Darius Adams told officers he had come from Play Dance Bar, where he drank a shot of fireball and other shots that men bought for him. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.136% BAC on a breathalyzer.

After Randolph Wilson reports his gun was stolen at TSU, he’s charged with carrying a gun on campus

TSU Police say 30-year-old Randolph Wilson reported his firearm was stolen while he was working a shift on campus on July 23rd. Wilson states he brought the firearm for protection when he walked home after his shift. During his shift, he had it stored away and not on his person. When he reported the theft to campus police, they issued him a state citation charging him with carrying a firearm onto school property. He was booked on that citation this week. His citation states he works for Arch Angel Security, and he maintains an active armed guard license with the State of Tennessee.

TSU dorm room tussle takes two lovers to jail — Juelle Walker & London Hutchings

TSU Police say they couldn’t determine who was the primary aggressor in a Rudolph Hall assault, so they took both parties to jail. Current TSU student, 20-year-old Juelle Rinae Walker, and her boyfriend and former TSU student, 21-year-old London Hutchings, were bother involved in a fight that caught the attention of 6th Floor RA Courtney Smalls. Hutchings was reportedly “in a jealous rage” because Walker went swimming without him. She says he pushed her and cornered her, and she sustained a cut to her hand and a bruise on her shoulder. He says she was throwing things at him and he was simply defending himself from further injury, as he sustained multiple scratches on his chest, neck, and wrist. TSU Police Officer Christopher Brooks says the judge can sort it out.

TSU Campus Police take down & injure student Jaylah Croft who is fighting with campus security

TSU Campus Police Officer Ajee Smith responded to Rudolph Hall late Saturday night in response to a disorderly student. Student Jaylah Croft was in a physical fight with Security Officer Tyaundrea Hughes. Officers say they attempted to separate the two individuals and Croft continued to be combative and show aggression to officers and Sgt. Christopher Brooks. Croft then charged at Hughes and then resisted arrest. Officers report that Croft sustained unspecified injuries while resisting arrest.

Rikaia Jackson arrested after refusing to pay for room or leave the property of a Nashville Hotel

Metro Nashville Police were dispatched to the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in North Nashville Tuesday after 22-year-old Rikaia Jackson refused to pay for her room. The manager informed her she would be trespassed if she did not leave the property or pay for her room, and police say she declined both options. She was given multiple opportunities to gather her belonging and leave and was eventually taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass when she remained on the property without paying.

TSU Police arrest Jayden Lawrence for assault of Dr. Andre Bean, TSU Men’s Initiative Director

19-year-old Jayden Lawrence is charged with the assault of Dr. Andre Bean, the Director of the Men’s Initiative at Tennessee State University. In what may be the most poorly written arrest warrant we’ve ever published, Sgt. Horace Green of the TSU Police Department doesn’t specify how the alleged assault happened but lists Dr. Bean as the victim. The Sgt was escorted to the alleged fight by Arch Angel Security on Monday afternoon to find a large group of students gathered in a circle in the hallway. When he arrived, Dr. Bean was restraining Jayden Lawrence but never actually alleged any assault took place. Lawrence requested medical attention, was evaluated at Metro General, then transported to booking.

Jada Gober & Shantell Banks charged in brutal TSU campus brawl in front of campus police

Campus police responded to a fight at TSU’s Ford Residential Complex, where 6 females reportedly attacked Nona Boyd because she had moved into the complex three weeks ago and was living with Cyndee Arnold, which was against the rules. As police arrived and attempted to determine what was happening, and who was involved, Jada Gober initially pointed to other parties involved and indicated who was fighting, including another person leaving in a vehicle, Octavian Williams. During the absolute madness and confusion, 20-year-old Jada Gober approached officers and struck Nona Boyd in the face, and another fight erupted with the pair falling to the ground. Police separated these two when 20-year-old Shantell Banks ran from the parking lot and attacked Nona Boyd from behind, striking and kicking her, leaving her injured and bruised.

Charles Michael Graham Jr. charged with sexual battery of female roommate during a massage

35-year-old Charles Michael Graham Jr., a Librarian Assistant at Fisk University, is charged with the sexual battery of his female roommate, who says he touched her sexual areas without consent and became aroused during a massage. Heaven Pryor told police Graham, who is her roommate, offered to give her a massage, and she accepted. She says she told him she was “gay as f–k”, and was not into him in any sexual way. She says Graham moved from her back to her buttocks and then to her pubic area and other parts of her body, each time with her having to tell him to stop. She states he also stopped multiple times due to getting aroused. He is free on a $2,000 bond.

Woman wants to know if ‘racist’ cops can even spell her name after DUI crash— Dre’Daya Holloway

Police responded to a single-car crash just before 3 a.m. and found 21-year-old Dre’Daya Holloway sitting inside her vehicle which she had crashed into a utility pole. Police say she was extremely intoxicated, hysterical, and rambling incoherently. She was belligerent with first responders, accusing police of being racist, and questioned if they could properly spell her name. She repeatedly asked why they had not found the vehicle that hit her, despite there being no other vehicle. She frequently responded to radio traffic on the police radio as if it were meant for her. She eventually admitted to believing she was on the TSU Campus and had just come from a party where she had been drinking Hennessy.

DUI: Man found asleep behind wheel of vehicle parked at intersection — Jordan Woods arrested

22-year-old Jordan Woods was booked into the Metro Nasvhille Jail just before daylight Sunday, after officers found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked in the middle of an intersection with his engine and lights off, with the keys out of the ignition. As officers observed cars maneuver around him they knocked on the window and eventually woke him from his slumber. He claimed to be “waiting on a text message” to tell him where to go. It was unclear how long he had been asleep at the intersection. Woods performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI and for a bag of marijuana found inside his jacket pocket. He is free on pre-trial release and listed a TSU campus dorm as his bond-out address.

21-year-old unable to care for herself: Downtown Nashville wins another round — Jordan Wharton

21-year-old Jordan Wharton was found in downtown Nashville walking out into traffic, extremely intoxicated, and unable to care for herself, according to Metro Police. They attempted to get her medical attention as she had also reportedly fallen, but she refused all offers for assistance. She was unable to walk or stand, so could not be left alone for her own safety. She was transported to booking, where she was charged with public intoxication.

TSU Police charge two teens with felonies for 75 grams of marijuana on campus — General Jai Lynch & Jordan Bowers

TSU Campus Police Officer responded to the back of Wilson Hall on the TSU Campus Saturday afternoon, where he says she smelled “an odor of marijuana” coming from a vehicle, which was occupied by 19-year-old General Jaire Lynch and 18-year-old Jordan Bowers. Both teens admitted to being in possession of a bag of weed and displayed them to the officers. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered one smoked blunt, one non-smoked blunt, and each teen’s bag, which all totaled 75 grams of marijuana. The teens were each charged with felony possession with intent to distribute and are free on pre-trial release.

22-year old Kennedi Stephens was jailed Sunday on an outstanding warrant charging her with domestic assault. The warrant alleges she punched her roommate in the face at The XO Lounge in April when a handgun then fell out of her pocket during the ensuing fight.
