Emily Dryburgh charged with DUI after East Nashville disturbance call

32-year-old Emily Dryburgh was sitting inside a white Honda with the engine running when police encountered her on a disturbance call at 921 Woodland Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning. She advised she was involved in the disturbance that resulted in the call to police. Officers say they could smell alcohol coming from Dryburgh, and she had slurred speech. As she stepped out of the vehicle, it was apparent she was intoxicated. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI. Dryburgh is the co-founder of Young Music City and RNBW Music Collective.

Man admits to taking silver bars from safe of elderly man he was caring for — Floyd Cowan III #MtZion

64-year-old Floyd Cowan III is free on a $20,000 bond after admitting to police he took silver bars and coins from the safe of an elderly man he was caring for. The victim’s son caught him in the act of removing more items from the safe after the initial theft. Cowan was able to get into the safe by ‘resetting’ the locking code to factory settings with assistance from a local hardware store. He told a pawn shop, which gave him $5,600 for the $7,000 worth of silver items, that his grandfather gave him the silver bars and coins. Cowan is an in-home worker for the elderly, and well-beloved at the Mt. Zion church in Nashville, where his wife, Princess Cowan, is an Elder.

Whip-It Canister & 100+ empty cartridges found in lap of man passed out behind the wheel #IWantMyLawyer

34-year-old Nicholas Beaty was found passed out behind the wheel of a white Mini Cooper with a whip-it canister and over 100 empty cartridges in his lap and front seat area of the vehicle. The keys were in the ignition and the music was blaring. To his right sat two empty Bud Light Lime bottles. Police say he was “angry, agitated, and dazed” when they shook him awake, and refused each and every question, simply demanding his lawyer.

20-year-old w/gun arrested at JT Moore Middle School

An observant parent was the first to noticed that 20-year-old Joshua Sawyers had a handgun in his jacket pocket at JT Moore middle School on Tuesday as kids were getting into their parent’s cars at afternoon pickup. He is currently held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
