58-year-old retired MNPD Sergeant Daniel Ogren was arrested Monday and charged with DUI and handgun possession while under the influence. Police found him relieving himself on the side of the road across from the Airways Motel, where he had just crashed a car into the curb. He blew a .245, had a .44 magnum handgun in the backseat, and an empty 5-liter Moscato wine box in the front seat – all before 10 a.m.

MNPD charged a woman with a crime in Hermitage – while she was sitting in jail

No one performed a simple to check to see if a woman was already in jail when the crime was committed. A MNPD officer swore a probable cause affidavit saying she did it, a night court magistrate signed the warrant, and the DA prepared to prosecute it.
