William Pearce charged with DUI in downtown Nashville parking garage

Metro Nashville Police say 21-year-old William Pearce was so drunk they had to stop field sobriety tests for fear he would fall over and injure himself in the parking lot of the AT&T building in downtown Nashville where they encountered him. Security contacted police after hearing a crash and observing Pearce backing up from a vehicle he had struck in the garage. A police report details Pearce was sweating profusely with slurred speech and other signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI, driving without a license, and violation of the implied consent law.

Carah Johnson charged with DUI while wearing her “I Love Beer” hat

Metro Nashville Police say they encountered 22-year-old Carah Johnson in the back of an ambulance after she rolled her vehicle, and atop her head was a hat that read “I Love Beer”. She immediately admitted to drinking before driving, and then crashing after driving too fast. They say she became “dramatic and emotional” with mood swings from crying to agitation, which included throwing several of her personal items in frustration. She produced a handgun from her person prior to attempting field sobriety tests.

Ashland City grandfather charged with DUI after leaving American Legion — Bill Krantz

Police say 63-year-old Billy Krantz was passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle on Broadmoor Drive in the early hours of Saturday morning. He told officers he had been dropping off a friend at the home on Broadmoor Drive and had been drinking at the American Legion less than an hour before driving. Krantz performed poorly on field sobriety tests and would only reply “I don’t know” when asked to provide a breath or blood sample for testing.

DUI: Arick Guzman drove his vehicle onto train tracks, heavily intoxicated

Just before 4 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the train tracks near Vaughns Gap Road and Hwy 100, where 36-year-old Arick Guzman had driven his white Dodge Journey SUV onto the tracks. He was located outside the vehicle, barely able to stand and with slurred speech. He told officers he had just left a friend’s house and denied drinking any alcohol. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused all other testing.

28-year-old Ryan Taugher was driving a blue Mercedes in North Nashville Friday and parked at the Chipotle on Rosa L. Parks Blvd when police encountered the vehicle, parked partially in the striped handicapped area. Officers approached the car and Taugher stated he was waiting for his order. He admitted to drinking “3 or 4 mimosas” earlier, and police say he reeked of alcohol. He refused all testing and was transported to booking, charged with DUI.

Bartender Jasalyn Barg charged with DUI 2nd Offense in East Nashville

28-year-old Jasalyn Barg crashed her vehicle in East Nashville on March 19th, and responding officers say she reeked of alcohol. She initially agreed to perform field sobriety tests, but once walking to a safe place to conduct them, she did not continue any of the tasks. Due to her unsteadiness, slurring her words, and smelling of alcohol, she was taken into custody and charged with 2nd offense DUI. On the way to booking, she tinkled in the backseat of the taxpayer taxi. She is additionally held on a warrant from Dickson County.

Metro Nashville Police were investigating an abandoned vehicle near the Bell Rd exit at I-24 when suddenly 29-year-old Logan McCann rear-ended another vehicle in front of officers. Goodlettsville Police officers were standing in the rear of police headquarters Saturday when 32-year-old Anthony Denton drove his Chrysler sedan into the rear parking lot and over a curb while officers watched. He told them he had come to city hall to help his brother, who he said worked for the city. In the middle of performing field sobriety tests, Denton stopped and stated he was intoxicated. He was charged with DUI.

DUI Crash: Robert Baugh “pleads the fifth” when asked how much he had to drink after midtown show

28-year-old Robert Baugh says he was coming from a show in midtown, where he had been drinking, when he swerved to pass a vehicle in East Nashville, impacted a wall, and spun around. Multiple witnesses came to his immediate aid to find him unresponsive. As police and medics arrived he became alert and when asked how much had had to drink, he stated: “I plead the fifth”. Metro Nashville Police say they found 34-year-old Jeffrey Halm passed out behind the wheel of his Tesla at the corner of Gallatin Ave. & Eastland Ave. in the early hours of Monday morning. 31-year-old Michael Simonetti, who described himself to police as “a lightweight when it comes to drinking” called to report he had been in a crash just over 90 minutes earlier. Police met him just down the street, where they discovered a puddle and trail of fresh alcohol, which he had poured out the window of his vehicle. He says he left the scene because he believed the other vehicle also left. Inside the car, police found 6 empty Captain Morgan bottles, and a glass with ice and liquor inside, along with other random alcohol cans.

Man says he used cocaine & opioids prior to crash — Mitchell Baxter

32-year-old Michell Baxter told paramedics he used cocaine and opioids prior to a crash on December 23rd. Baxter was initially found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his crashed truck, unresponsive with fixed pinpoint pupils and a slight pulse. Narcan was administered and he eventually became responsive as he was being transferred onto the gurney. He stated he remembered nothing about the wreck, and refused to answer any questions after being read his rights. Baxter was charged with DUI 2nd and violation of the implied consent law. Baxter also received a citation charging him with DUI 2nd in October, for which he has not yet been to court. He remains jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

29-year-old William Sidebotham crashed his vehicle just before 9 p.m. Monday near 6th Ave. N & Jefferson. When officers found him, he was obviously intoxicated, had trouble standing, and admitted to consuming three drinks prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused any blood or breath testing.

A witness to the crash, who pulled her from the wreckage, says she also offered him $300 to go on about his day and “let her go”.
