21-year-old Virginia Belser crashed her vehicle on Hwy 100 just after 5 a.m. Saturday and showed signs of impairment as officers responded to the scene. A can of beer was in her vehicle, and she admitted to having “a few” alcoholic drinks before driving — when asked to clarify “a few,” she responded it was 3-4 cans of Topo-Chico Hard Seltzer. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.203% BAC on a breathalyzer. A search of the vehicle revealed an open can of Topo Chico and a 12-pack of the drinks with several cans missing.

TSU Football Star Devon Starling called police to report his “ex-fling”, 22-year-old Ariel Escobar, the Director of Football Operations & On-Campus Recruiting, was sitting in her car at his apartment at 2:30 a.m. as he arrived home with his girlfriend, Mia Kanu. The couple told Escobar she needed to leave the property, a request she refused. The couple attempted to drive around Escobar’s vehicle to leave the situation, but Escobar followed them as they pulled into a nearby parking lot. Escobar then blocked their vehicle from leaving and then drove into their vehicle with them still inside.

David White joked and laughed throughout DUI arrest after West Nashville crash, per police

25-year-old David White was involved in a crash on Old Charlotte Pike late Saturday night and called his brother for assistance. His brother then contacted Metro Nashville Police, who responded to the scene and located White, who appeared to be intoxicated with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Officers say White laughed and joked throughout the entire interaction and admitted to consuming “two alcoholic beverages” hours before the crash. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Jacob Brewster catches DUI after he “got in his feelings” and slept in his running car

19-year-old Jacob Brewster says he was inside a residence at the Hillmeade Apartments late Friday night with some friends after bringing them home and drinking some tequila with them. He says he “got in his feelings” about a situation and decided to leave. He was too intoxicated to drive home and decided to sleep in his vehicle in the parking lot. Before sleeping, he continued to drink from a bottle of vodka in the car.

A short time later, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Metro Nashville Police responded to an unrelated shots-fired call at the complex and came across Brewster in the parking lot, who was now slumped over the driver’s seat with the car running and the door wide open. Brewster was unresponsive for several minutes with vomit both inside and outside the car and all over himself. Officers were able to turn off the car, and Brewster eventually woke up and tried to put the car in gear and leave. He eventually blew a 0.123% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Matthew Zito found asleep behind wheel after drinking “3-4 drafts” prior to driving

First responders located 21-year-old Matthew Zito asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Brownlee Drive and Brook Hollow Road just after 1 a.m. Sunday. As firefighters approached the vehicle, Zito briefly woke up and drove further down the road, where he fell back asleep. Nashville Fire was able to place blocks in front of his tires so he couldn’t move any further and then removed him from the vehicle. Officers arrived as he was being escorted to the ambulance. Zito stated he had “3 or 4 drafts” at a bar on 21st Ave, where he was drinking with his co-workers prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking.
