Police say 21-year-old Darius Adams crashed a black Cadillac Escalade just after 4 a.m. Monday near Charlotte Pike and River Road. Adams was found asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was blocking a lane of travel, and the engine was running. An open can of Cayman Jack was in the center console, and Darius Adams told officers he had come from Play Dance Bar, where he drank a shot of fireball and other shots that men bought for him. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.136% BAC on a breathalyzer.

18-year-old Grant Winn charged with DUI after driving wrong way on interstate & crashing

18-year-old Grant Philip Winn was driving a vehicle that crashed into another vehicle head-on on I-65 South in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police say Winn was driving Northbound in the Southbound lanes when the crash occurred. He was sitting on the ground by his crashed vehicle when police arrived and admitted to drinking prior to driving, stating he had been at a party and consumed “two beers.” He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI and underage drinking.

DUI: Andrew Scott drives home speeding & dragging front bumper, totally oblivious

28-year-old Andrew Scott faces a DUI charge after police observed him driving just before 4 a.m. Sunday while dragging his front bumper along with him on the ground at 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on White Bridge Pike. A subsequent traffic stop revealed him to be the driver of the vehicle, and he told officers he was returning from a friend’s house and CookOut and eventually admitted to drinking both beer and liquor prior to driving. He seemed surprised there was damage to the front end of his vehicle, despite the horrendous noise it was making on the roadway before the stop, but eventually stated he might have run over a curb. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

DUI: Lucas Gonzales says a stranger gave him a Roxicodone to make him feel better

23-year-old Lucas Gonzales told police he wasn’t feeling well when he left work Monday, so he stopped at a gas station on his way home. He claims a “random guy” gave him a “little blue pill, called a Roxi,” and told him it would “make him feel better and help with his anxiety.” Gonzales swallowed the pill from the alleged stranger and continued on his quest toward home. As he made it to the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Smith Springs Road, he passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle and was brought back to the land of the living when Nashville Fire medics used Narcan on him when they arrived at the scene. Medics reported he only had a faint heartbeat when they arrived. He is charged with DUI.

Shannon Crothers charged in West End DUI — blows double legal limit after “a few beers”

Metro Police say 36-year-old Shannon May Crothers was driving on West End with no headlights in the early hours of Friday morning. She was slow to respond after an officer initiated a traffic stop but eventually parked in an alley between 16th & 17th Ave. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking a “few beers” at an event with friends. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.164% BAC on a breathalyzer —double the legal limit in Tennessee.

Former State Rep Jeremy Durham charged with DUI in late night downtown Nashville crash

Former State Representative Jeremy Durham was arrested overnight by the Metro Nashville Police Department. He is charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.

Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, Metro Nashville police responded to 1st & Broadway, where 38-year-old Jeremy Durham was involved in a motor vehicle collision. Officer Cote observed indicators of impairment to include slurred speech, dilated pupils, and Durham was unsteady on his feet.

Mr. Durham tried to walk away, at which point he was detained in a patrol car. Officers report they could smell the obvious odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person, his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and his speech appeared slow and mumbled.

When requested to perform field sobriety tests, Durham simply replied, “lawyer,” and gave the same answer repeatedly when asked about a blood test. Due to the other driver being injured, a search warrant was requested for Durham’s blood.

During a search incident to the arrest of Durham, officers located a green metal grinder with marijuana residue. He was additionally charged with possession of paraphernalia. When Officer Cote was placing him in handcuffs, he physically resisted by trying to pull away from Officer Cote, trying to prevent being secured in handcuffs.

DUI: Mark Newman found asleep behind the wheel at an intersection in Antioch

Metro Nashville Police located 40-year-old Mark Newman asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Bell Road just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, where he had been for at least 20 minutes, according to calls from witnesses. The white Chevy Silverado was in drive, and Newman’s foot was on the brake. NFD medics woke Newman up, and he admitted to consuming “4-5 beers” at a bar prior to driving. 20-year-old Kaylyn McKissack caught the attention of Metro Nashville Police Thursday as they observed her driving very fast in the parking lot at 900 Gallatin Pike, and she eventually drove over a curb and stopped in the grass. Officers made contact with McKissack, who was naked from the waist down, had urinated on herself, and had an open bottle of liquor in the center console and another in the passenger seat. Metro Nashville Police responded to a vehicle parked on the side of I-40 in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Behind the wheel, officers observed 26-year-old Michael Lelli sleeping for a considerable amount of time before being able to wake him. Once awake, he reportedly stumped on his feet and reeked of alcohol, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Lelli admitted to consuming “one beer and two mixed drinks” prior to driving. He was charged with DUI 2nd and driving on a suspended license. He has a prior DUI conviction from 2017, according to police.

38-year-old Takiyah Thompson is charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicant after first responders pulled her from the driver’s seat of crashed white Nissan 300 just after 2 a.m. Sunday on I-24 East. Officers responded to the intersection of Old Hickory Blvd & Nolensville Pike in the early hours of Sunday morning. The 23-year-old driver Isaiah Carter and his front seat passenger, Karla Campos, were found unconscious in the white Infinity sedan. Carter was visibly intoxicated and performed poorly on field sobriety tests once he regained consciousness. He admitted to drinking “two beers” earlier in the night. He would later blow a 0.125% BAC on a breathalyzer and was also charged with the handgun he carried in the car.

Metro Nashville Police found 26-year-old Nashville content creator Hannah Noel Grooms standing on the side of Bell Road crying after having just driven her vehicle into the wooded ravine below, where it was flipped upside down. Grooms was very intoxicated and admitted to drinking a half bottle of wine, stating she was coming from Jonathan’s Grille in Mt. Juliet. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to Summit Hospital for treatment. She was previously convicted of DUI in Kentucky in February of 2022 and has a revoked license.

Cameo Hamm charged in East Nashville DUI, says she had ‘Verizon’ to drink

Metro Nashville Police were dispatched to the intersection of Woodland Street and S. 14th St. in East Nashville, where they located 22-year-old Cameo Hamm seemingly passed out behind the wheel with the keys in the vehicle and her foot on the brake. Upon making contact, officers asked Hamm if she had anything to drink tonight, and she kept repeating, “Verizon.” Though most of her sentences were incoherent, police say she did admit to drinking alcohol prior to driving. Metro Nashville Police say 23-year-old N’finity Tanksley drove her vehicle into the side of the building at 1201 Broadway in the early hours of Sunday morning before daylight. When officers arrived, she was still in the driver’s seat with the vehicle in drive, still pushing into the building while refusing commands to exit. She was removed from the wreckage by force and admitted to consuming “one shot” of liquor four hours before driving. Inside the car, officers found marijuana and an open shot of moonshine. She smelled of alcohol and later blew a 0.09% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Brittney Calhoun charged in “girl’s night out” DUI crash in East Nashville

30-year-old Brittney Calhoun told police she was “in town for a girl’s night and going to some bars” when they found her and a passenger crashed in East Nashville at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. She had driven her vehicle into two parked cars on the side of the road. Further questioning revealed that her drink of choice was Vodka & Red Bull, and she consumed “a couple” while at the bars. She says she blacked out and doesn’t remember any of the crash. Officers located two large Bud Light cans that were open and leaking alcohol into the driver’s side of the car, along with another opened bottle of alcohol in the front. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI. Her passenger was transported to Centennial hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
