36-year-old Cassandra Kioussis says she had “four beers and two shots” shortly before police found her slumped over the wheel of her vehicle and intersection in front of them. When police asked her to put the car in park, she rolled forward, and then rolled down the rear window instead of the front. She would eventually blow a 0.179 % BAC and was arrested for DUI.

DUI: Parson James found unresponsive after crashing vehicle into East Nashville dumpster

Just before 2 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th, Metro Police found 30-year-old Ashton Parson, better known by his stage name of ‘Parson James’, crashed into a dumpster behind the Checkers restaurant in East Nashville. He was initially unresponsive with the vehicle still in drive. Eventually, police were able to knock enough on the window to get him awake. He was reportedly extremely intoxicated and admitted to having a “couple of drinks” prior to driving.

On January 2nd, Parson took to social media to admit he struggled with addiction and declared himself an alcoholic. On January 18th he further posted that he was checking into a “mental health facility” to work on himself.

DUI: Man says he hit a pothole… Officers say he was drunk — Olaoluwa Faparusi arrested

Officers found 23-year-old Olaoluwa “Laolu” Faparusi inside his disabled vehicle on Woodmont Blvd when officers approached to offer assistance. Faparusi told officers he had hit a pothole and was waiting on roadside assistance. Officers noticed front and back tire damage, along with a damaged mirror that Faparusi was unable to explain.

He eventually admitted to having a Sake drink before driving and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He is charged with DUI.

Nurse charged with 3rd DUI since 2021 after watching Titans game — Christopher Blake Burch arrested

Metro Police say 25-year-old Registered Nurse Christopher Blake Burch is now facing his 3rd DUI charge since 2021. Court records show he had left a Nashville bar after watching the Titans game Saturday, and just after 5:30 p.m. he reportedly nearly ran into another vehicle that was flagging down an officer who was passing by and pointing frantically at Burch’s vehicle, which was also speeding.

He would eventually blow a 0.177% BAC. Burch is free on a $3,000 bond.

DUI: Man flees after crash, tells police he’s “a lightweight when it comes to drinking”— Michael Simonetti

31-year-old Michael Simonetti, who described himself to police as “a lightweight when it comes to drinking” called to report he had been in a crash just over 90 minutes earlier. Police met him just down the street, where they discovered a puddle and trail of fresh alcohol, which he had poured out the window of his vehicle. He says he left the scene because he believed the other vehicle also left. Inside the car, police found 6 empty Captain Morgan bottles, and a glass with ice and liquor inside, along with other random alcohol cans.

He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, violation of implied consent law, and leaving the scene of an accident.

While responding to a different call, officers discovered 21-year-old Kayla Knox stepping out of her wrecked vehicle in the median of I-40. She told officers she had just left Play Dance Bar where she drank shots and was trying to get home to Clarksville. She refused to remove her heels and performed field sobriety tests wearing them. Man says he intentionally rammed vehicle into tree after drinking White Claw — Anthony Castiglia

25-year-old Anthony Castiglia was booked on a citation for DUI this week stemming from a December crash that sent him to the hospital. Court records show Castiglia told officers he intentionally rammed his vehicle into a tree on Ellison Place.

Officers found several consumed cans of White Claw in both the front and back seats of the vehicle. He was transported to Vanderbilt and admitted due to internal injuries.

DUI: Man blows over double legal BAC limit after I-40 crash — Robert Cade Marklein arrested

When police responded to a crash on I-40, 24-year-old Robert “Cade” Marklein told officers a car forced him into the guardrail and off the roadway. Officers, however, noticed Marklein appeared to be heavily intoxicated, and after questioning, Marklein admitted to drinking “two beers” earlier in the night.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, police found 27-year-old Austin Shane Boyette driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street with two completely flat tires. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Boyette acknowledged he was aware of the two tires, stating he had attempted to fill them up with air, unsuccessfully. After failing all three field sobriety tests, Boyette blew a 0.14% BAC on the breathalyzer and admits to drinking “five beers and some wine beverages” prior to driving. Man so drunk he continues to drive damaged vehicle after crash — Elijah Gang #WhiteBoyWasted

26-year-old Elijah Gang was driving around in a recently crashed vehicle when he drove right into an area which police were preparing for the NYE event in downtown Nashville. An officer approached him to make sure he was ok, and that he realized how damaged his vehicle was. The front-end had heavy damage and the left front tire was completely flat. Gang reeked of alcohol and refused to answer most questions.

Inside the Toyota Rav4 was an open Miller High Life beer can and multiple cans of Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Things. Gang was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and open containers. He was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail, just a few blocks away, and is free on pre-trial release.

DUI: Jessica Bruton says she “failed at being the designated driver” after “too many shots” at Jazzy Sensation

24-year-old Jessica Bruton said she was supposed to be the designated driver on NYE, however, she told police she “failed” that job after “taking too many shots”. She crashed her car just before 7 a.m., stating she had recently left Jazzy/Sensation and had driven her friends home.

Bruton admitted to smoking marijuana and taking multiple shots of tequila. She said that earlier she was a 10/10 on the intoxication scale. She was charged with DUI and transported to booking.

When police pulled him over for a traffic stop, an officer noticed a nearly empty bottle of Adictivo Tequila in the vehicle of 36-year-old Marvin Drew, and a 9mm handgun magazine in his lap. When asked where his gun was located, Drew pointed to his pink handbag, which is where officers retrieved a Taurus G2c and several rounds of ammo.

Man says he used cocaine & opioids prior to crash — Mitchell Baxter

32-year-old Michell Baxter told paramedics he used cocaine and opioids prior to a crash on December 23rd. Baxter was initially found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his crashed truck, unresponsive with fixed pinpoint pupils and a slight pulse. Narcan was administered and he eventually became responsive as he was being transferred onto the gurney. He stated he remembered nothing about the wreck, and refused to answer any questions after being read his rights. Baxter was charged with DUI 2nd and violation of the implied consent law. Baxter also received a citation charging him with DUI 2nd in October, for which he has not yet been to court. He remains jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

37-year-old Gregory Chitwood is charged with driving under the influence after multiple motorists called 911 to report a dark-colored pickup truck was off the roadway on Briley Parkway.

Officers canvassed the area, eventually locating the vehicle in a grassy field 100 yards away from the road. Chitwood was found asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle, which was still running and still in drive. He admitted to drinking prior to driving. Chitwood blew a 0.141% BAC and was charged with DUI. He is free on pre-trial release.

29-year-old William Sidebotham crashed his vehicle just before 9 p.m. Monday near 6th Ave. N & Jefferson. When officers found him, he was obviously intoxicated, had trouble standing, and admitted to consuming three drinks prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused any blood or breath testing.

Police say she was speeding and driving erratically, and eventually ran a red light in Goodlettsville, where a traffic stop was conducted. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and blew a 0.163 BAC on the breathalyzer, more than twice the legal limit in Tennessee. Officers also found she had a prior DUI in 2019 in Rutherford County and is required to have an alcohol interlock device on her vehicle, which she did not have. She was charged with DUI 2nd offense and is free on pre-trial release.

After field sobriety tests, Hamrick submitted to a breathalyzer, where he blew a 0.166 BAC – over double the legal limit. 22-year-old Jordan Woods was booked into the Metro Nasvhille Jail just before daylight Sunday, after officers found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked in the middle of an intersection with his engine and lights off, with the keys out of the ignition. As officers observed cars maneuver around him they knocked on the window and eventually woke him from his slumber. He claimed to be “waiting on a text message” to tell him where to go.
