24-year-old Tiara Wilson was charged with DUI after crashing into a utility pole. On the 24th, officers were dispatched to a crash on Gallatin pike. Wilson had damaged power lines that were setting the nearby grass on fire. When asked how the crash happened, she would not answer but instead talked only about her life story and how she was already going to jail in Montgomery County in two days for another DUI charge. After asking several times, she admitted that she had leaned over to grab something when the crash occurred. She repeatedly stated that she was going to jail and that she was sober. Due to the strong winds, Officers could not pick up a smell of alcohol, but with her insistence on being sober and her performing poorly on the sobriety test, officers believed her to be impaired. While conducting a vehicle search, officers found an open container of VooDoo Ranger IPA.

DUI: Michelle Jacobs asleep behind the wheel with a handgun
53-year-old Michelle Jacobs was arrested for driving under the influence. On February 25th, officers approached a car parked on Murfreesboro Pike. Jacobs was asleep in the driver’s seat with suspected marijuana in her lap. Officers woke her, and she was able to tell them where she was. When asked what was in her lap, she looked down and said it was CBD and brushed it onto the floor. When Jacobs exited the vehicle, officers could smell a strong marijuana odor. Jacobs agreed to take the sobriety test, which she performed poorly on but insisted it was because she had braces on both knees, although from the starting position, she was swaying heavily. Officers say Jacobs exhibited multiple physical factors of being impaired. While conducting a search, a bag of suspected marijuana and a handgun were found. Jacobs was taken into custody.
Matthew Brecht flees from police, they meet him at his house
21-year-old Matthew Brecht face multiple charges after police say he fled from them after they observed him traveling at 50 mph in a 35 mphz in his silver Dodge Ram truck late Friday night in Goodlettsville. Officers stopped the pursuit, per policy, but knew the vehicle and where the driver lived. Officers arrived at the location to find the truck parked but still warm to the touch. Brecht’s cell phone and a half-empty bottle of vodka were vidisble in the vehicle’s driver’s seat. Brecht eventually came out of the house and was taken into custody.
DUI: Brandin Veloz, 19, charged after drinking at Play Dance Bar & crashing car
19-year-old Brandin Veloz says he drank three shots of rum and vodka mixed at Play Dance Bar before crashing his car in West Nashville in the early hours of Saturday morning. Officers say he reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He would later blow a 0.129% BAC on a breathalyzer.
DUI: Gimalee Taylor drank a half-pint of vodka before driving & crashing
57-year-old Gimalee Taylor told police she drank a half pint of vodka before driving and crashing her Chrysler Sebring on February 20. Officers found her still sitting in the vehicle as she was unable to stand or walk due to her level of intoxication. She freely admitted the vodka caused her to drive recklessly. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking.
DUI: Thomas Gravelle charged after improperly navigating traffic circle
40-year-old Thomas Gravelle failed to propertly negotiate the traffic circle near 8th Ave S. in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Friday morning. A Metro Nashville Police officer was driving behind him and initiated a traffic stop. Gravelle was reportedly visible intoxicated, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to consuming “one drink” and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He later blew a 0.123% BAC on a breathalyzer.

THP Trooper Healey says 30-year-old Alexander Hankins was “talkative and humorous” after she pulled him over just after 2 a.m. Friday. Hankins reportedly cut in front of the trooper’s car, which was blocking an exit for traffic control purposes. During the interaction, she says Hankins was visibly intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to drinking prior to driving and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
DUI: Mandy Garman drove car onto railroad tracks after drinking IPA beers at Jonathan’s
25-year-old Amanda ‘Mandy’ Garman says she consumed “two IPA beers” at Jonathan’s Grille before getting confused and driving onto the railroad tracks on 2nd Ave. North, where her Toyata then became disabled. Police arrived, located her nearby the vehicle, and said she was visibly intoxicated and reeked of alcohol. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI.
Julie Waugh, 80, says she drank wine before DUI crash
80-year-old Julie Waugh was involved in an at-fault-crash on Woodlawn Drive late Thursday night, and officers arrived to assist; they noticed her vehicle was blocking the roadway and asked her to pull it into a nearby driveway. Waugh looked at officers and asked them to park the car for her. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet, with slurred speech. She admitted to consuming two glasses of wine just before driving. She refused all testing and was taken into custody.
DUI: Theresa Biddles found with crack cocaine after driving into a curb
66-year-old Theresa Biddles told police she had “three shots” prior to driving her car into the curb at a Waffle House just south of downtown Nashville early Friday morning. Officers found her nodding off in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition. Inside the vehicle was a Walgreens prescription bottle with 10 grams of crack cocaine inside.
Benjamin Eddie Rutland found asleep behind the wheel after ‘2 beers’ at East Nashville bar
31-year-old Benjamin Eddie Rutland handed officers cash from his wallet and told them it was his identification when they found him asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle on I-65 S early Tuesday morning. When first responders arrived, they noted he was asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running and in drive. As Nashville fire woke him, they attempted to get him to place the vehicle in park, but he was too incoherent to understand or take action on the request. Rutland says he had “two beers” at an East Nashville bar prior to driving. He later blew a 0.105% BAC on a breathalyzer.

20-year-old Alexis Radford was stopped traveling in the wrong on I-40 East near Fesslers Lane in the early hours of Saturday morning. Officers conducted a DUI investigation due to Radford reeking of alcohol and being unsteady on her feet. She performed poorly on field sobriety test and was charged with DUI.
DUI: Kierra Dies admits she’s drunk & flips off officer during arrest
19-year-old Kierra Dies flipped off officers before her arrest. Kierra was involved in a collision at exit 204A, where luckily, no one was injured. When the officer arrived, Dies stated, “I’m drunk, and I rear-ended him” She admits to having one beer. The empty beer can was located on the floor of the passenger’s side. Dies smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. She was placed under arrest after performing poorly on all field sobriety tests, but not before flipping off the officer, yelling obscenities, and cursing him out without ever confirming a yes or no to consent to submit a blood sample for testing.
DUI: Timmie Godwin asleep behind the wheel on the interstate
Police responded to what appeared to be a disabled vehicle on I-40 E in the early hours of Feb 11 to find 30-year-old Timmie ‘TJ’ Godwin asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake. Offers were initially unable to wake Godwin but were eventually able to reach through a small portion of the window that was rolled down and “poked” him until he was awake. As he was removed from the vehicle, it was apparent he was intoxicated and had an empty liquor bottle in the center console. TJ Godwin admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving and was transported to booking, where he was charged with DUI.
DUI: Destiny Frierson rear-ends vehicle, yells at driver for being in the way
Police say 30-year-old Destiny Frierson passed into oncoming traffic to pass a vehicle on February 11th on Antioch Pike and then rear-ended a truck that was waiting to turn left into an apartment complex. Frierson and her passengers then exited their vehicle and approached the man in the truck they hit and began to yell and scream at him for being in their way. Officers arrived and determined Frierson exhibited multiple signs of intoxication and took her into custody.
DUI: Irving Brown — too drunk to even take a breathalyzer test
When officers gave the breathalyzer tube to 21-year-old Irving Brown at the police station on February 12, he nearly fell over while sitting at the table. A second attempt resulted in his head hitting the table as he was unable to sit up due to his level of intoxication. How did we get here? Brown was initially pulled over for running a red light near the Wedgewood / 65 S onramp. He was slow to stop, and once he did, officers located an empty bottle of el Jimador Tequila at his feet. He reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was then transported to booking for a breathalyzer.
DUI: Richard White asleep behind the wheel at a gas pump in West Nashville
Police located 55-year-old Richard White asleep behind the wheel of a black truck at a Charlotte Pike gas station. The vehicle was running and had been parked for about an hour, according to the store clerk. After blocking in the vehicle, officers were able to wake the man, who was highly intoxicated. He stated he came from a friend’s house in Green Hills and had two bourbon ales at Casa de Montecristo in the Gulch prior to that.
DUI: Waddy Brooks consumed White Claws, marijuana & anxiety pills before driving
Police say when they stopped 23-year-old Philip Waddy Brooks for speeding late Friday night, he would not look at the officer. He reportedly reeked of alcohol, despite initially claiming he didn’t consume any alcohol. He refused a breath test but performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He eventually admitted to taking anxiety pills, smoking marijuana, and drinking four White Claws prior to driving. He was transported to the hospital for a forced blood draw and then to booking.
James Werdeniuk charged with DUI after speeding on Briley Parkway
42-year-old James Werdeniuk was traveling at 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Briley Parkway on February 4, according to police. During a subsequent traffic stop, Werdeniuk reportedly had slurred speech and signs of apparent intoxication, including smelling of alcohol. Inside the vehicle was a four-pack of Southern Grist, and a bottle of Banana Split liquor. He showed multiple signs of impairment on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI.
DUI: Samuel West drives into the side of Lucky’s 3-Star Bar in Nashville
26-year-old Samuel West told police he came from Broadway, where he “didn’t have a single drop of alcohol” before crashing his Jeep Wrangler into the side of Lucky’s 3-Star Bar just south of downtown Nashville Sunday night, causing extensive damage to the building. He claimed he simply swerved to avoid a car. West reeked of alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
Anthony Bates had ‘2 beers at a strip club’ before DUI hit-and-run crash
30-year-old Anthony Bates says he and his friend Zachary Dickson were driving home from a strip club in his silver Dodge Caravan when he struck a vehicle at 46th & Charlotte and fled the scene. Officers caught up with the Caravan on White Bridge Road and observed it to have heavy front-end damage. When asked about the damage, Bates stated he “may have hit a bump but was not aware of hitting a vehicle.” He admitted to consuming “two beers” at the strip club prior to driving and almost fell over during field sobriety tests.
Megan Love charged with DUI after drinking in downtown Nashville
Metro Nashville Police say 22-year-old Megan Love crashed her 2018 Nissan Murano in downtown Nashville at 3:30 a.m. on January 11. She stated she had consumed “a couple of drinks” prior to driving and displayed multiple signs of intoxication. She had to be transported to the hospital for treatment and was issued a citation for DUI. She was booked on that citation this week.
Maurilio Teletor Jimenez charged with DUI from passenger seat in stranger’s driveway
25-year-old Maurilio Teletor Jimenez was found asleep in the passenger seat of a vehicle in a stranger’s West Nashville driveway on February 4. Officers responded and found the vehicle running and at least a dozen empty beer cans scattered in both floorboards. It took a sternum rub to wake the driver. As he woke up, he attempted to grab the steering wheel and also searched for an unopened can of beer.
DUI: Junior Louis asleep behind the wheel after drinking wine during dinner date
34-year-old Junior Louis says he had two glasses of wine at dinner with a date Saturday night before police found him asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at an intersection. When woken up, he stated he didn’t need any assistance, that he was simply tired and fell asleep. When he exited his vehicle, officers reported he reeked of alcohol and he performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Inside the driver’s door area was a loaded M&P Shield handgun. As he was being transported to booking, Louis asked to go to the hospital due to a possible medical condition causing him to “fall asleep” at the wheel. Metro General cleared him for jail, and he was charged with DUI.
DUI: Maria Takele parks in the middle of the roadway downtown so no one will hit her car
Metro Nashville Police came upon a blue Hyundai Accent parked in the middle of a lane of travel at 5th & Broadway in the early hours of Saturday morning. As they approached the vehicle, 24-year-old Maria Takele also approached the car and stated she parked in the middle of the road because someone had hit her car earlier in a parking garage. Takele appeared to be extremely intoxicated and admitted she had been drinking prior to moving her car to the roadway. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI.
