Bridgett Eakin whipped her girlfriend with keyboard cord during argument, per report

Michaela Richardson told police her girlfriend, 28-year-old Bridgett Nicole Eakin, whipped her on the hip/thigh area with a keyboard cord while yelling “get the fuck over it” as the two were arguing late Tuesday night. Richardson had just returned from the store to find Eaken upset and throwing things in the apartment. Eakin reportedly said she’d break her own things if she wanted and took a computer keyboard and began smashing it along the wall in the hall. When Eakin demanded she stop, she reportedly grabbed the attached cord and whipped her girlfriend with it. Eakin told police she didn’t hit the victim on purpose but did leave a visible injury.

Callie Carder assaults boyfriend multiple times, upset she can’t drive while drunk

Late Sunday night Metro Nashville Police say 23-year-old Callie Carder was at her workplace at Fifth and Broadway when she called her boyfriend of two years, Caleb Gaw, and stated she was extremely intoxicated and about to drive to their home. Gaw immediately rushed to the location to pick her up, along with a co-worker who would be dropped off along the way. An argument began and continued the entire ride, where Carder was upset she was unable to drive, and she reportedly continued to assault her boyfriend and made continued and repetitive attempts to “rip the steering wheel out of his hands.”

After the friend was dropped off near Edmondson Pike, the argument escalated, and he stopped the car at the Ellington Ag Center as it was unsafe to drive. Carder then retrieved her metal weed grinder and bashed it into his forehead, leaving a one-inch laceration. He ripped it from her hand and tossed it out the window, and called 911 during this period, but the call ended. He then drove the car the remainder of the way home to separate himself from her, and she assaulted him again on the way inside.

State Representative Torrey Harris jailed for assault of ex-boyfriend & theft of his dog

31-year-old State Representative Torrey Harris is free on a $2,000 cash bond after being jailed Sunday on charges of domestic assault and vandalism. Court records show his ex-boyfriend, Terence Nealy, reported Torrey scratched his arm during a bear hug while attempting to prevent him from leaving his own apartment while discussing their prior relationship while dropping off Terence’s dog, which he had been pet-sitting. Terrence was eventually able to leave his apartment and returned when officers were present to discover that Torrey had taken his dog, his Playstation 5, a barstool, lamps, air pods, an apple watch, a TV mount, a MacBook Air, and a pair of white AirMax shoes. Police spoke to Representative Harris via phone and notified him he was on a bodycam recording; he then admitted to taking Terence’s dog but wanted to clarify all the other items he took were “gifts” he had bought for Terence. Harris is charged with domestic assault and felony theft.

Monae Ford lures ex-boyfriend outside to assault him, ransacks grandparent’s house

18-year-old Monae Ford was jailed this week on an outstanding warrant after she showed up at the home of the grandparents of her ex-boyfriend, Terry Waters, and lured him outside in May, where she hit and spit on him. She initially claimed she was pregnant when she arrived, but no one believed her, and everyone went about their day, so she then grabbed a brick and acted like she was going to damage the victim’s car, which caused him to exit the back door of the home and approach her. Ford took the opportunity to hit and spit on her ex-boyfriend and then run inside the unlocked back door and ransack a path to the front door, knocking over items along the way before fleeing again out the front door. Officers say she has an “extensive” domestic violence history, and they issued a warrant for her arrest.

Johnny Hurst charged after threatening to toss girlfriend off bridge, destroying her phone

Jaclyn LaGrow says her boyfriend of five months, 50-year-old Johnny Hurst, stopped his vehicle on the bridge of Old Hickory Blvd over I-65 as they were having an argument and kicked her out of the vehicle, physically pushing her out while yelling and screaming, leaving her stranded on the side of the road. About twenty minutes later, he returned to the location, and she began to gather her things from his vehicle. She says he became aggressive once again and grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the edge of the bridge while screaming he would throw her off the bridge. He then snatched her phone and destroyed it. After he fled a second time, a concerned citizen transported her to a safe place to contact the police.

Steven Johnson charged after poking a woman in the forehead with his index finger, leaving a scratch mark.

35-year-old Steven Johnson was jailed this week on an outstanding warrant charging him with domestic assault. The warrant, from August of 2021, alleges Johnson was in an argument with Precious Douglas over “food” and escalated when Johnson reportedly got in her face, raised his hand, and began poking her in the forehead with his index finger. Precious says she was scratched by his fingernail as he was poking her. A warrant was issued for his arrest, charging him with domestic assault, as he had fled the scene before officers arrived at the Antioch home.

Brandon Ashley Dickerson says his girlfriend, 28-year-old Courtney Garrett, threatened to kill him as she struck him in the head at a Wallace Road Motel on June 28th. He says the two were in a verbal argument over “rumors” she had heard about him, which quickly escalated as she began punching him in the face. She then threw his phone, shattering the screen. A warrant was issued for her arrest when police arrived, and she was booked into custody Thursday.

Lindsey Jett charged in drunken assault of her mother in Nashville Motel

Amy Jett told police that her 19-year-old daughter, Lindsey Jett, “does this when she gets drunk” when describing how Lindsey attacked her mother, biting her wrist and her rib cage, and then strangling her with both hands. When police arrived at the Super 8 Motel on Royal Parkway, Amy explained the two had been taking shots together at another location earlier, and once back at the hotel room, an argument escalated. Officers documented bite marks and other injuries on the mother, along with ripped clothing. Lindsey had initially fled the scene before officers arrived but was taken into custody a short time later.

Jonathan Damelio charged with breaking his wife’s hip during argument over finances

Metro Nashville Police say Peggy Damelio was transported to the hospital after what was initially reported as a fall, however, once at the hospital she disclosed that the broken him and laceration to her forehead actually came from her husband, 68-year-old Jonathan Damelio, knocking her down during an argument. She says they had been arguing about loans and their daughter moving back home from Michigan when the assault occurred.

Jessica went to the Family Safety Center to report the assault this week but says it happened on June 25th. She says once she gained access to the phone and decided to hold it as collateral, she ran to her son’s room and locked herself inside. She says Charles then busted down the door and jumped on top of her, strangling her across the bed until she had difficulty breathing. Her cousin recorded a video that shows a portion of the assault.

Etrec Logan charged with domestic assault of his daughter; DCS opens investigation

A Department of Children’s Services investigation has been opened and 41-year-old Etrec Logan has additionally been charged with domestic assault after a female child reported to police that her father picked her up off the ground and forcefully threw her down onto the floor during an argument. Two siblings witnessed the assault and one intervened. During the investigation, Logan admitted to grabbing his daughter and “shaking her” but did not make any further statements regarding the incident.

While the two were discussing their children, an argument escalated until he says she slapped him in the face several times before returning to her vehicle and fleeing the location. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was booked on that outstanding warrant this week.

Russell Garner charged with assaulting wife after she takes his phone to search it during divorce

36-year-old Russ L. Garner was jailed Saturday on a warrant charging him with the domestic assault of his wife, Kelly Macfarlane, who recently filed for divorce, citing inappropriate marital conduct and irreconcilable differences. She says she asked to see his cell phone due to “suspicious behavior” at which point she gained access, however, a struggle ensued. The victim provided body-worn camera footage of what she says were injuries from the assault and states she was threatened to not mention the assault to the police.

A filing in the divorce case from Russ Garner sheds additional light on the incident, stating that she took his phone and hid it behind her back, and began kicking him. He admits to grabbing her wrist in an attempt to stop her from kicking him and to retrieve his stolen phone. All this happened while their child watched from a playpen. Police did not immediately make an arrest in the case, it was several weeks after the wife visited the Family Safety Center, and she had to take out the warrant herself, it was not signed by the police as the prosecutor.

Reginae Rogers breaks out glass door & smashes phone when she’s unable to use mother’s phone charger

Metro Nashville Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in Antioch in which 21-year-old Reginae Rogers complained that her mother, Natasha Bryant, would not let her use her phone charger. Reginae reportedly got upset and slammed her phone on the ground, and during the argument used her hand to break a sliding glass door in anger, which also placed her mother in fear of being assaulted. Her mother reported Reginae had been awake for three days and believed her to be on some sort of drug.

Talia Payne charged in attack of her sister during family intervention in Nashville

Cardaja Payne called police to report she went to her mother’s home to pick up her children, and as she approached the driveway she was approached by her sister, 22-year-old Talia Payne. Alongside Talia was her father, Carson Payne, her children’s father, Austin Martin, and her other sister, Amaya Payne. It was an intervention of sorts, as the group accosted her for being late to pick up her children, yelling and screaming at her, some of them calling her a “dead-beat parent” among other names. Talia reportedly first physically assaulted her in the head and then her own father, Carson, held her to the ground while Talia continued to throw strikes at her, and then Amaya reportedly joined in on the assault. She says her children’s father, Austin, then picked her up and slung her to the ground multiple times before getting on top of her and strangling her. Officers documented multiple bruises and injuries and collected matching witness statements. Payne is the first of the group to be booked on charges.

Heather Guzman pushes husband through glass door & leaves him there; claims he did it to himself

Nathan Burkitt says after a night of heavy drinking he was in a 4 a.m. argument with his wife, 30-year-old Heather Guzman, and as the argument continued to escalate to a loud and aggressive state, he suggested that his wife leave the house so they could each have their personal space and rest. He says Heather then pushed him backward through a glass door, shattering it, and left him lying on the back deck, injured and bleeding. When police arrived and interviewed Heather, she claimed he must have been mad at a video game and head-butted the door, which didn’t match any of his injuries. She was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury.

Marshall Brown charged with punching his brother in the face during argument

On June 23rd, a drunken Sten Brown called and told police that his brother, 23-year-old Marshall Brown, punched him in the face just under his left eye during an argument inside their share apartment several days prior on June 17th. Responding officers took photos of the victim’s injury and bruising. When interviewed about the reported assault, Marshall Brown admitted to punching his brother in the face.

Sten was too intoxicated at the time of his report to be taken before a magistrate, but because of the domestic relationship and the obvious injury, officers prosecuted for the assault and took Marshall into custody.

24-year-old Ashley Thomas was jailed on June 15th, charged with the domestic assault of her boyfriend, Allen Lewis. A bystander heard the assault happening and called police, who arrived to find the two had exited the residence and were now in a vehicle. The victim advised the two were arguing and he attempted to leave to de-escalate the situation. He says she then stepped in front of the door and place her hands around his neck, and when he broke her grip and continued on his way she backhanded him in the nose.

TSU Police say they couldn’t determine who was the primary aggressor in a Rudolph Hall assault, so they took both parties to jail. Current TSU student, 20-year-old Juelle Rinae Walker, and her boyfriend and former TSU student, 21-year-old London Hutchings, were bother involved in a fight that caught the attention of 6th Floor RA Courtney Smalls. Hutchings was reportedly “in a jealous rage” because Walker went swimming without him. She says he pushed her and cornered her, and she sustained a cut to her hand and a bruise on her shoulder. He says she was throwing things at him and he was simply defending himself from further injury, as he sustained multiple scratches on his chest, neck, and wrist. TSU Police Officer Christopher Brooks says the judge can sort it out.

Tourist John Taggart admits to slapping his girlfriend during assault at Opryland Hotel in Nashville

At 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Metro Nashville Police responded to the Opryland Hotel after Brooke Opel reported her boyfriend, 40-year-old John Taggart, had assaulted her and was attempting to take the keys to her vehicle. When officers interviewed Taggart, he admitted that he slapped Brooke in the face during the argument. Brooke further told police the couple had been out drinking in downtown Nashville, and when they returned to the hotel John became “belligerent” and backhanded her in the face multiple times. Officers documented multiple injuries on the victim’s face and took Taggart into custody.
