Lawrence Storey jailed after MNPD surveils Homeless Shelter for crimes

Metro Nashville Police were conducting surveillance at the Nashville Rescue Mission on February 3 when they observed 58-year-old Lawernce Storey place a small bag in his right boot after a hand-to-hand transaction. Detectives approached Storey and searched him, locating a small baggie with 7.5 grams of crack cocaine in his right boot. They also retrieved $475 in cash, which they seized, along with 1.5 grams of marijuana. Detectives recorded the transaction on video and took Storey into custody.

DUI: Justin Record flips car after leaving bar; police find white powdery substance

After 34-year-old Justin William Record crashed his vehicle on Charlotte Pike at 2 a.m. Wednesday, and overturned his car into a small group of trees, he told police he had been rear-ended by another car that caused him to flip his vehicle. His girlfriend, who was traveling in a vehicle behind him, states Justing “just went off the road.” He admitted to consuming two shots and two to three beers at Copa Cabana Bar & Grill, a bar directly across the street, just before driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and, once at booking, was found to have two small baggies with traces amounts of a white powdery substance. Deputies also located a twenty dollar bill with the same white powdery substance.

April Hampton — texting while driving leads to arrest for cocaine, handgun, and marjiuana

33-year-old April Hampton was pulled over by a THP Trooper on I-24 after he said he observed her texting while driving. It was determined her driver’s license was revoked for failure to pay court fees, and the officer noted the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. She claimed she had smoked earlier, but nothing was currently in the vehicle. A search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of a handgun, a small amount of cocaine (0.5 grams) packaged to sell, 32 grams of marijuana, and a scale.

Karl Chandler pays for sex with MNPD undercover with cocaine during sting

Metro Nashville Police say 35-year-old Karl Chandler replied to an escort ad that was posted by officers Monday, where he agreed to exchange both money and some cocaine for a sexual act. As he arrived at the agreed-upon location and spoke with the undercover operative posing as a prostitute, he stated he didn’t bring any cash, just the cocaine. An agreement was reached for 1 gram of cocaine in exchange for oral sex, as he tossed the drugs on the bed. As he was taken into custody, officers located 5 additional grabs of hard cocaine and 5.5 grams of powder cocaine.

Tivie Greer sells cops fake cocaine on Broadway, brings actual drugs into jail with him

Undercover detectives working the downtown district Friday night approached 31-year-old Tivie Greer and asked to buy some cocaine from him. They agreed on $100, and the transaction occurred at 329 Broadway (Honky Tonk Central). Detectives moved in and took Greer into custody. The white powder he sold police was not actually cocaine or any known drug. Greer was transported to booking and left three small rocks in the patrol car as he exited. These were the actual cocaine and tested positive, along with two additional baggies and some marijuana that was found as he was being processed. Greer is charged with selling counterfeit drugs, possessing actual drugs, and bringing drugs into jail.

Landon Myers floored after fight at Legends Corner, charged with cocaine possession & drunkenness

Metro Nashville Police working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville encountered 24-year-old Landon Myers of Rome City, Indiana, who had been in a fight with another patron at Legends Corner. When officers arrived, Myers was on the floor of the venue and had dropped his wallet, which had his ID visible from the outside front sleeve. In it, officers also observed a baggie that is believed to be cocaine. After being evaluated, Myers refused any further medical treatment and left the EMS vehicle. He showed signs of being extremely intoxicated and was taken into custody for public intoxication and drug possession.

Bobbie Larkin stored drugs in backpack of 7-year-old son; charged under Haley’s Law

35-year-old Bobbie Larkin told her 7-year-old son to grab his backpack as they exited the vehicle during a traffic stop after police had observed her conducting a drug deal just moments before. Inside the child’s backpack, detectives located 4.6 grams of cocaine, Oxycodone pills, and ammunition for the handgun that was stored in the glove box. During the traffic stop, Larkin also gave police consent to search her home, which was 2 miles away. Detectives froze the home, and she was brought to her residence to sign the consent form. A search of the home resulted in the seizure of nearly one pound of marijuana, digital scales, Xanax pills, 2 grams of cocaine, and multiple firearms. Larkins is being prosecuted under “Haley’s Law,” which could result in a 15-25 year sentence to serve just on the child abuse charge.

Brad Adams tells police he did “booger sugar” prior to nodding out & crashing his car

45-year-old Brad Adams was found unconscious behind the wheel of his 2017 Nissan Altima, which had just crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Hwy 100 and Old Hickory Blvd last month. First responders administered Narcan to Adams, which ushered life back into him. Adams explained he had taken “Booger Sugar,” further clarifying he snorted cocaine. Officers noted both his pinpoint pupils and an empty bottle of vodka in his vehicle. Adams was transported to the hospital and cited for DUI. He was booked on that citation this week.

35-year-old Nashville Rapper & Franklin Realtor Houston Parks told Metro Nashville Police he smoked marijuana “minutes before driving,” according to an arrest warrant obtained by Scoop: Nashville overnight. He also confirmed the powder in his pocket was cocaine. Parks maintains an active real estate license with the state despite a 2006 DUI and drug possession charges, a 2007 charge for selling ‘woo’ (fake cocaine) and fleeing from police, a 2009 MNPD Undercover Information operation that caught him with a felony amount of cocaine, and yet another DUI charge in 2010. Sarah Foster Sutherland charged with DUI & cocaine possession after leaving bar

Metro Nashville Police say 29-year-old Sarah Foster Sutherland, of Brentwood, was traveling behind Officer Joseph Gonzales in East Nashville early Tuesday morning when she suddenly passed his police vehicle at a high rate of speed. He reached 80 mph on Gallatin Pike to catch up with her, while the speed limit is 40 mph in that area. She eventually made a U-turn, stopped parallel to his vehicle, and stared at him “as if confused as to what to do,” according to the officer. She claimed to be coming from a bar and was driving fast to get away from patrons who were “bothering her.” Inside the vehicle was a white powder, which she admitted was cocaine. She was charged with DUI and drug possession and transported to booking.

Kelli Diaz, 55, found slumped over behind wheel with baggie of cocaine at McDonald’s

55-year-old Kelli Diaz faces DUI and drug possession charges after police say was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of her running vehicle at a McDonald’s. When first responders arrived, she had a small plastic bag containing cocaine in her hand and she was slumped over the center console. Three empty baggies with white powder residue were also found on the seat beside her, along with a snort straw. Prescription bottles containing Adderall, Diazepam, and Zoloft were also in the vehicle. She was charged with DUI, drug and paraphernalia possession, and given pre-trial release.

Man found asleep behind wheel blows 0.182% BAC, has suspected cocaine in wallet — Joel Bauman

37-year-old musician Joel Bauman, of The Band Royale, told police he had “two beers” at a friend’s house prior to them finding him asleep behind the wheel of his car on West End on February 20th. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Bauman would blow a 0.182% BAC on the breathalyzer. He assured officers he had nothing on him she shouldn’t have as he was being taken to jail, however, once at booking officers located a small 0.2 gram baggie of what appeared to be cocaine in his wallet, resulting in an additional felony charge.

Zain Sheikh & Kally Dobak indicted on Cocaine conspiracy and sales charges in Nashville

In a newly unsealed indictment, 31-year-old Zain Sheikh & 25-year-old Kally Dobak are charged with selling cocaine together on multiple occasions, including three counts of selling over 26 grams together, all occurring in March and April of 2020. Kally also has an individual count of selling one-half gram of cocaine in March. Sheikh has been taken into custody and is held on a $75,000 bond. A warrant is outstanding for Dobak’s arrest.

Man charged with giving child cocaine, raping her, hiding her from police — Da’Sean Hancock (D William Hancock)

26-year-old Da’Sean William Hancock (D. William Hancock) is now jailed on felony aggravated kidnapping, aggravated statutory rape, and child endangerment charges. Police say they located him at his Nob Hill apartment with a 13-year-old child, who he hid in a closet when she tried to escape, realizing police had arrived. Police say he gave the child marijuana and cocaine until she felt “high and numb” and raped her twice. A friend of the child assisted the police in the rescue of the child. Hancock remains jailed on an $85,000 bond.

After cocaine & beer, man calls 911 to have a tow truck take him home. He walked to the restaurant — Timothy Odom

54-year-old Timothy Odom went to an East Nashville restaurant Wednesday and drank “a lot” of beer and snorted cocaine. He then convinced employees to call 911 for him, stating he was experiencing an emergency. Once officers arrived he explained he had stubbed his toe, and his phone wasn’t charged, both of which he believed to be genuine emergencies. He told officers what he really needed was for them to call a tow truck for him, so he could get home. Mr. Odom arrived on foot and did not have a vehicle.

Odom was charged with making a non-emergency 911 call ($50 bond), drug paraphernalia for the cut straws in his backpack ($1,000 bond), and public intoxication ($50 bond). He is jailed in lieu of a $1,100 bond.

Man says he used cocaine & opioids prior to crash — Mitchell Baxter

32-year-old Michell Baxter told paramedics he used cocaine and opioids prior to a crash on December 23rd. Baxter was initially found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his crashed truck, unresponsive with fixed pinpoint pupils and a slight pulse. Narcan was administered and he eventually became responsive as he was being transferred onto the gurney. He stated he remembered nothing about the wreck, and refused to answer any questions after being read his rights. Baxter was charged with DUI 2nd and violation of the implied consent law. Baxter also received a citation charging him with DUI 2nd in October, for which he has not yet been to court. He remains jailed in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

27-year-old Megan Hoover is charged with DUI after she crashed at I-24 & Haywood Lane Sunday. Santwan Holt, 20, Randall Gilmer, 20, and Michael Williams, 24, are all charged in what police describe as a cocaine distribution operation. In addition to cocaine, a search warrant resulted in the seizure of 3 Glock handguns and a Mini Draco. All three denied any knowledge of guns or drugs in the home.
