22-year-old Malakye Williams was found slumped over and leaning against a wall on Broadway in downtown Nashville this weekend. Medics also responded to the scene, but he refused all assistance. Due to his level of intoxication and inability to care for himself, Williams was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

APSU Lab Manager Ronald Palmer caught masturbating in office by student
52-year-old APSU Chemistry Lab Manager Ronald Palmer was jailed Friday after a student said she walked in on him masturbating in his office with the door open to the hallway. Police made contact with Palmer, who refused to answer any questions. The student alerted another Chemistry to the incident, and she called campus police. The student says Palmer was reclined back in his chair with his head back, eyes closed, and aggressively pleasuring himself with his right hand.

Clarksville’s most prominent problematic party boy, BRAY2K, or as the judge calls him, Brayden Collins, was at Play Dance Bar this weekend when he says he was beaten by a bouncer, some of which was captured on video. The 19-year-old was with friends at the 18+ dance club, and the club even featured him on their social media and website photos from the evening. At some point, he was escorted out of the club after someone said he intentionally bumped into them. Brayden says he asked to apologize to the person but was escorted out instead. Once he was on the sidewalk, a video shows him being beaten as a member of the security staff holds him down.
Ja’Korey Hunter charged with assault of woman at gay bar in Nashville; she punches him in face
21-year-old Ja’Korey Hunter was at Play Dance Bar at 2 a.m. Saturday when police say he sexually assaulted Brittanee Anderson. According to witnesses and video of the incident, Hunter walked up behind the victim, who was dancing with her friend, Kolton Dixon. He then reportedly put his arms around her waist and then placed his hand up her dress, touching her genital area and fondling her. She immediately confronts Hunter and punches him in the face. Kolton Dixon then threw Hunter to the ground. Security responded and detained Hunter until police arrived. Our partners at Clarksville Today previously covered Hunter’s DUI in October.
DUI: Michael Powers says he snorted heroin prior to crash in North Nashville
45-year-old Michael Powers told police he used heroin prior to crashing his Hyundai Elantra in North Nashville on January 6. Witnesses say he was driving recklessly and hit two other vehicles before hitting a red truck and flipping his vehicle, eventually stopping while facing south in the northbound lanes of Clarksville Pike. He was speaking incoherently and had constricted pupils, and nodded off while speaking to the police. Heroin and a snort straw were located inside the vehicle.

Clarksville woman with COVID jailed after coughing on husband intentionally
31-year-old Rebecca Lee Sealy, who describes herself as “dom fem” online, was jailed Tuesday after her husband, Ted Sealy, told police they were in the car together when she reached over and stuck two of her fingers in his mouth, pushing down on the back of his tongue, and coughed on him. Sealy reportedly recently tested positive for COVID-19, and her husband says she was purposefully coughing on him to spread the virus. Ted stated he felt assaulted and disrespected by his wife’s actions.
April Hampton — texting while driving leads to arrest for cocaine, handgun, and marjiuana
33-year-old April Hampton was pulled over by a THP Trooper on I-24 after he said he observed her texting while driving. It was determined her driver’s license was revoked for failure to pay court fees, and the officer noted the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. She claimed she had smoked earlier, but nothing was currently in the vehicle. A search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of a handgun, a small amount of cocaine (0.5 grams) packaged to sell, 32 grams of marijuana, and a scale.
Wesley Johnson says he “snorted pain pills” prior to crash on I-65 in Nashville
Police say 29-year-old Wesley Johnson had to be revived with Narcan after he crashed his vehicle on I-65S in late October. He told first responders he had two alcoholic beverages and had snorted pain pills prior to driving that night. He was transported to Vanderbilt for treatment and issued a citation for DUI 2nd offense. He was booked on that citation this week.
Clarksville won’t investigate touching/sexual harassment complaints on Roxy’s Ryan Bowie; he will continue working with the city’s landmark theatre
In the time since a half-dozen complaints have been received about Roxy Theater Director Ryan Bowie, alleging inappropriate touching, assault, sexual harassment, stalking, and inappropriate relationships with actors under his employ, two members of the Roxy’s Board of Directors have now resigned in protest as its own executive committee cleared Bowie of any wrongdoing, despite making changes including an HR director position and an “intimacy choreographer.”
Bowie’s name is closely associated with the Roxy Theatre, the City of Clarksville, and the Children’s Theatre programs; however, the city, led by Mayor Joe Pitts, says they can’t investigate the allegations because he’s not actually a city employee and isn’t bound to any ethics rules the city may have in place.
Emails obtained by Clarksville Today show the Roxy Board determined that “any of the allegations made against Mr. Bowie do not rise to the level of liability from a legal standpoint,” so they would no longer investigate the matter, either.
Citizens have been clear, whether there is a legal liability or not, where there’s smoke, there is likely fire, and this many complaints didn’t happen overnight or from single incidents. Citizens, actors, and even the APSU Threatre program professors have all made it clear — The Roxy can’t continue on its current path with the city and the children’s theatre program with Ryan Bowie at the helm, and if we’re waiting on a “legal liability,” the damage will have already been done to the Roxy & the City of Clarksville. Matt Visser charged in assault of Play Dance Bar Bouncer: smashed his glasses & destroyed them
31-year-old Matt Visser is charged with assault and vandalism after he reportedly “snatched the glasses from the head” bouncer Jelani Kimber at Play Dance Bar early Sunday morning. Kimber says the man then twisted his glasses until they were broken, shattered, and missing pieces. The assault came after Visser was asked to leave due to his level of intoxication and behavior inside the bar. Earlier on social media, Visser had commented on how LGBT bars were becoming “zoos for bachelorette parties.”
Beth Creglow charged with DUI after admitting to drinking for hours prior to driving
39-year-old Elizabeth Creglow told police she had been drinking for several hours at a friend’s house before deciding to drive back home to Clarksville this weekend. Police encountered her after she crashed her 2018 black Ford Edge on I-24 near mile marker 34. She says she was attempting to pass another vehicle when she crashed into it. She was placed into custody for DUI and transported to booking.
Actors say Clarksville’s Roxy Theatre Director Ryan Bowie harassed, stalked, touched without consent
An actor at the Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville says he and a dozen others have been victims of harassment and inappropriate conduct by Director Ryan Bowie for at least the past year, with some complaints going back much further. In January, after several actors detailed formal complaints, the theatre’s Board of Directors & the Executive Committee admitted “mistakes have been made” and determined that Bowie, along with other staff, would enroll in “extensive HR training,” and someone on-site would be trained as an “Intimacy Choreographer.” Additionally, an HR Director would be appointed. Now that the city is directly involved with the theatre and its liability, the actors, and some city council members, are still concerned about ongoing issues at the downtown Clarksville landmark and are calling for action — they want Bowie removed as the Executive Director, weary of several lawsuit threats involving his actions.
Cassandra Ladd jailed after Broadway Brawl in downtown Nashville early Sunday morning
40-year-old Cassandra Ladd was amid a large group of people fighting on the street in Sunday morning’s Broadway Brawl in downtown Nashville near Nudie’s Honky tonk. Ladd was detained by police and still would not comply with demands to cease fighting, so she was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
Noel Saad says man told her to “go lay in the road” while drunk in downtown Nashville; she obliged
27-year-old Noel Saad, who was recently arrested in Clarksville after being found so drunk outside of a bar that she couldn’t properly walk was arrested again this weekend, in Nashville. Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, officers working the Entertainment District Initiative noticed her in an extreme state of intoxication and laying in the middle of the intersection at 5th & Broadway. She refused to move, stating that an unknown male told her to “go lay in the road”.
VIDEO: Nashville teen subdued by Clarksville resident after suspected murder plot fails when gun jams — Trejon Montgomery
18-year-old Trejon Montgomery, of Nashville, is jailed on a $25,00 bond in Clarksville after a resident found him coming through his bathroom window, wearing all black, a ski mask, and armed with a handgun just before 10 p.m. Sunday. The residents were able to subdue the man until police arrived, leaving a bathtub full of blood from the battle. It is believed that Jordan Marsh, who is a former paramour of the resident, sent Montgomery to kill the resident. Montgomery admits Marsh sent him there, and that an unknown person was his driver.
DUI: Malika Baker crashes in downtown Nashville after “three shots of tequila”
30-year-old Malika Baker crashed her vehicle at 2nd & James Robertson Parkway in downtown Nashville. When police arrived the vehicle was still running and in reverse. Baker eventually admitted to drinking three shots of tequila prior to driving. She is charged with DUI.
Orbeez/Splat Gun Tiktok Challenge reaches Broadway in downtown Nashville: Four teens arrested
Four teens were arrested Saturday night after participating in the dangerous trending Nationwide TikTok Orbeez/Splat Gun Challenge. In the challenge, participants shoot unsuspecting people with gel-type pellets from Orbeez guns, some of which look like handguns and even rifles. They then post the videos on TikTok to share for engagement. Saturday night, four teens, including Ian Brown and Nashaud White, and two 17-year-old juveniles, shot the gel pellets from a moving Kia sedan on Broadway at unsuspecting people walking on Broadway. Once police stopped the vehicle, they also found an actual loaded (and stolen) handgun.
Tyler Flanagan “Anime Car Guy” indicted in 2020 Nashville rape
21-year-old Tyler Flanagan was jailed Sunday, charged with a November 2020 rape. The Davidson County Grand Jury returned the charge in March. Flanagan is a prominent member of the Nashville and Clarksville car club scenes, locally known for his “anime” car, and a member of “931 Shitboxes”. He is free on a $10,000 bond.
Clarksville Financial Advisor Robert Kennedy charged in $10,000 cash theft from his lover
52-year-old Clarksville Financial Advisor Robert Kennedy was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail just before daylight Tuesday, charged with felony theft. Court records allege he stole $10,000 in cash from his ex-girlfriend, Heidi Blessing, which she had recently withdrawn from the bank for an upcoming surgery. The lovers had been celebrating Robert’s birthday at her apartment and were reportedly intoxicated when they got into an argument. She placed the cash inside a gold makeup bag that night and says he absconded with the cash the next morning. Police say security cameras show no one else entering or exiting the residence during the time the cash disappeared. Robert Kennedy is the son of Reber and Opal Kennedy, of Clarksville.
APSU: Woman kicks campus police in testicles, screams “I’m high as hell!” after 400mg edible — Aila Thomas
20-year-old Aila Michel Thomas says she ate a 400mg marijuana brownie bar shortly before she kicked APSU Campus Police Officer Levi Grubb in his groin and assaulted Officer Gabby Linn. The two had responded to a 911 hangup call from Eriksson Hall to find Thomas running around the common area of the dorm screaming “I’m high as hell!” and stating she was about to pass out.
Man says DUI crash was “a series of unfortunate circumstances” — Austin Clark arrested
Metro Nashville Police responded to a traffic crash in the early hours of Sunday morning on I-24 and found 26-year-old Austin Clark, who was driving the vehicle, to be very confused and slow to respond, stating he “had a little to drink”. When asked how the accident happened, Clark stated “it was a series of unfortunate circumstances” without further explanation. Clark blew a 0.191% BAC and was taken into custody.
Nurse charged with 3rd DUI since 2021 after watching Titans game — Christopher Blake Burch arrested
Metro Police say 25-year-old Registered Nurse Christopher Blake Burch is now facing his 3rd DUI charge since 2021. Court records show he had left a Nashville bar after watching the Titans game Saturday, and just after 5:30 p.m. he reportedly nearly ran into another vehicle that was flagging down an officer who was passing by and pointing frantically at Burch’s vehicle, which was also speeding.
He would eventually blow a 0.177% BAC. Burch is free on a $3,000 bond.
DUI: Woman crashes after leaving Play Dance Bar, wears heels during field sobriety tests — Kayla Knox arrested
While responding to a different call, officers discovered 21-year-old Kayla Knox stepping out of her wrecked vehicle in the median of I-40. She told officers she had just left Play Dance Bar where she drank shots and was trying to get home to Clarksville. She refused to remove her heels and performed field sobriety tests wearing them. She was charged with DUI.
Clarksville mother faked autistic child’s death. School laptop leads to his discovery — Vanessa Blanchard
From our partner, Clarksville Today: In October of 2021, New Providence Middle School SRO Dwayne James contacted Vanessa Blanchard to inquire why her 12-year-old son was not at school, he was informed the child had died as the result of a seizure two days prior. The school announced the child’s death and had a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses, which Blanchard said would be at Sykes Funeral Home. When the school contacted the funeral home to donate the money, they had no record of the family or any arrangements.
The school reached out to Blanchard again, and she explained the child’s body was at Tennova, awaiting an autopsy. Two weeks later, the child’s school-issued laptop was realized to be active at the Vacation Motor Motel.
Deputies responded to the location and found the boy in the room, but otherwise alive and well. Vanessa Blanchard admitted to leaving the child there alone and checking on him every other day, or so. Blanchard is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child, and fraud – false impression of death. She remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.
