Police say 61-year-old John Erik Wiggins was driving on Broadway in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Saturday morning when they observed him swerving between lanes. A traffic stop was initiated, and Wiggins was reportedly visibly intoxicated and reeked of alcohol. He admitted to consuming “two drinks” prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking, charged with DUI.

Chase Cummins asks for a ride home, MNPD takes him to jail
After a night of drinking in downtown Nashville on Christmas Eve, 22-year-old Chase Austin Cummins approached a Metro Nashville Police Officer at 3rd & Broadway and asked for a ride home. When officers learned he lived in Franklin, they advised they could not accommodate him since he lived outside of the county. He didn’t have enough money for a taxi and wasn’t able to locate a friend to assist. Left with no other options, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
DUI: Sejal Desai charged after falling asleep while driving; drank “two IPAs” at a party
43-year-old Sejal Desai says she consumed two IPA beers, including a “Bearded Iris” at a party before falling asleep behind the wheel of her car in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police and medics arrived to find her still sleeping and woke her up. She stated she was disoriented and tired while driving and fell asleep but later admitted her disorientation was due to being intoxicated. She was charged with DUI.
Isaac Jameson busted in underage drunken & drug-induced rampage in downtown Nashville
20-year-old Isaac Jameson faces multiple charges after Metro Nashville Police say admitted to being “on drugs” in addition to underage drinking while in downtown Nashville. Jameson was initially observed stumbling on Broadway when a bouncer from a nearby club advised Jameson was pushing other citizens and accusing one of taking his money.
Jameson attempted to enter multiple downtown bars and was successfully blocked by security until he reached Second Fiddle Saloon, where he was able to push past security and enter the bar area, which is where police caught up with him as he was in a physical fight with bouncers. Body camera footage shows him yelling “f*/k you!” to police as he attempts to pull away from them. He was transported to Metro General for medical clearance, where he continued to resist personnel, and then transported to booking.
Shannon Crothers charged in West End DUI — blows double legal limit after “a few beers”
Metro Police say 36-year-old Shannon May Crothers was driving on West End with no headlights in the early hours of Friday morning. She was slow to respond after an officer initiated a traffic stop but eventually parked in an alley between 16th & 17th Ave. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking a “few beers” at an event with friends. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.164% BAC on a breathalyzer —double the legal limit in Tennessee.
Chuck Heron cited for DUI after crashing motorcycle in front of his own house
Just before 1 a.m. on a Saturday morning in August, police responded to the Plum Nelly Circle home of 54-year-old Charles ‘Chuck’ Heron to find him lying in the bushes near the side of the road after he had crashed his motorcycle on the roadway and sustained injuries. He stated he had been drinking earlier in the night and had consumed two Miller Lite tall boys. He appeared to be very intoxicated and then began to fall asleep and become incoherent. He reportedly told one of the Nashville Fire medics he had been drinking and “f-*ked up,” and they relayed that information to officers. He was transported to the hospital for his injuries and level of intoxication and was issued a state citation for DUI. He was booked on that citation this week.
Nashville Bishop Kenneth Dupree pulls gun on neighbor, threatens to “put her in an obituary”
Metro Nashville Police say security camera footage captured 65-year-old retired Bishop Kenneth Dupree pulling a silver handgun on his neighbor and pointing it directly at her while stating: “I will put you in an obituary and sh**t you, you M*-*-*F*-*-*g b*-*h.
The incident occurred after the neighbor, Jenine Di Conti, says Dupree was speeding through the neighborhood and nearly hit someone so she turned the garden hose, which was already in her hand, in the direction of the vehicle in an attempt to get his attention to slow down and watch out for the other person. After parking his vehicle, he returned to the neighbor’s home and made the threats, with her husband as a witness. He said she harassed him and “if it would be up to him, if she came to his property today, she would be laying in his driveway.” Police took Dupree into custody and transported him to booking. He had secured his firearm inside his residence before officers arrived.
Michelle Parrish slaps her son, who told police she was drunk, cursing him, and trashing her home
Michael Parrish told police who responded to the Seven Springs Way address in Brentwood, that his 64-year-old mother, Michelle Parrish, was drunk, cursing him out, and “trashing her apartment.” As officers were conducting the investigation, Michelle Parrish suddenly slapped her son on the head as he walked by her without any provocation or warning. Witnessing the physical assault, she was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.
Sarah Foster Sutherland charged with DUI & cocaine possession after leaving bar
Metro Nashville Police say 29-year-old Sarah Foster Sutherland, of Brentwood, was traveling behind Officer Joseph Gonzales in East Nashville early Tuesday morning when she suddenly passed his police vehicle at a high rate of speed. He reached 80 mph on Gallatin Pike to catch up with her, while the speed limit is 40 mph in that area. She eventually made a U-turn, stopped parallel to his vehicle, and stared at him “as if confused as to what to do,” according to the officer. She claimed to be coming from a bar and was driving fast to get away from patrons who were “bothering her.” Inside the vehicle was a white powder, which she admitted was cocaine. She was charged with DUI and drug possession and transported to booking.
Nathan Woods found passed out at hotel bar, threatening to fight police & medics
34-year-old Nathan Woods was found passed out at the bar of the Hyatt Place Nashville/Brentwood on Summit View Drive late Monday night. Medics arrived and offered assistance, which was refused once he became aware of his surroundings. He was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Unhappy with his situation, he made threats to fight both police and medics. Due to being unable to care for himself, he was taken into custody.
Man pulls knife on clerk when he doesn’t have ID to pick up alcohol for DoorDash order — Clayton Phifer
24-year-old Clayton Phifer and his wife were DoorDashing and had an order to pick up alcohol from a Berry Hill liquor store. When neither was able to produce ID to verify their age, they were denied the alcohol. After some back and forth, the store informed Clayton he was no longer welcome, and Clayton became irate and went outside only to return back inside with his wife. The clerk felt threatened and grabbed a bottle of liquor in case he had to defend himself, at which time Clayton pulled out a pocket knife and stated “there’s gonna be a murder scene in here”. The clerk and the Clayton were chest-to-chest during parts of the altercation and intimidation.
DUI: Nashville Realtor crashes into a parked car after Margaritas & Tequila — Samantha Patton
25-year-old Nashville Realtor Samantha ‘Sammie’ Patton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Friday evening after leaving Cilantro Mexican Grill, where she says she had two margaritas and a shot of tequila before driving. Officers say she left the restaurant and proceeded onto Eastland Ave where she struck a parked vehicle. When officers and medics responded to the overturned vehicle they found Patton extremely impaired. She refused a breath test.
DUI: Man says he hit a pothole… Officers say he was drunk — Olaoluwa Faparusi arrested
Officers found 23-year-old Olaoluwa “Laolu” Faparusi inside his disabled vehicle on Woodmont Blvd when officers approached to offer assistance. Faparusi told officers he had hit a pothole and was waiting on roadside assistance. Officers noticed front and back tire damage, along with a damaged mirror that Faparusi was unable to explain.
He eventually admitted to having a Sake drink before driving and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He is charged with DUI.
DUI: Man flees after crash, tells police he’s “a lightweight when it comes to drinking”— Michael Simonetti
31-year-old Michael Simonetti, who described himself to police as “a lightweight when it comes to drinking” called to report he had been in a crash just over 90 minutes earlier. Police met him just down the street, where they discovered a puddle and trail of fresh alcohol, which he had poured out the window of his vehicle. He says he left the scene because he believed the other vehicle also left. Inside the car, police found 6 empty Captain Morgan bottles, and a glass with ice and liquor inside, along with other random alcohol cans.
He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, violation of implied consent law, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Man charged with assault of girlfriend with door, stands over her, mocking her — Jordan Klochany arrested
29-year-old Jordan Klochany is charged with the domestic assault of his girlfriend, reportedly upset that his parents found out about his increasing issues with alcohol and a prior domestic incident between the couple just days prior. Court records allege he slammed a door into her face and wrist, then stood over her, mocking her, as she laid on the floor in pain. Klochany admitted to drinking a pint of Whisky and told officers that he was not even home at the time of the incident, and also that he never left the home. Officers could hear him screaming “I’ll break the (inside) door down, it’s that simple!” as they initially approached the home. Jordan Klochany is free on a $2,000 bond.
Woman accused of assaulting ex-husband’s new lover during “fit of jealous rage” — Erin Bradley
50-year-old Harpeth Montessori teacher Erin Bradley is charged with the assault of the new lover of her ex-husband. An arrest affidavit alleges she ” without provocation from the victim, got out of her car and charged at the victim scratching and bruising victim’s arm. This was done in a fit of jealous rage on the defendant’s part.” She is free on pre-trial release.
Fan charged after fight during Titans’ Monday Night Football game at Nissan Stadium — Brandon Rich
31-year-old Brandon Rich, of Brentwood, was charged with public intoxication Monday night at Nissan Stadium after he got into a physical altercation with another fan. He is free on a $100 cash bond.
DUI: 21-year-old crashes after 2 Truly drinks & 4 tequila shots at Halloween Pary — Seth Cann
21-year-old Seth Cann is charged with DUI after leaving a Halloween party and crashing his car. When asked for his insurance, he provided a Valvoline service card. Cann admitted to having two Truly drinks, and 3-4 tequila shots before driving. After urinating on himself in the breathalyzer room at booking, he is free on pre-trial release.

22-year-old Gavin Reese Bain was revived by the use of 3 doses of Narcan after he was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle after a crash with a hypodermic in the floorboard beneath him and a marijuana pipe in the glove compartment. He admitted to having used marijuana, amphetamines, heroin, suboxone, and Zyprexa recently.
Handyman charged with serious assault & strangulation of his stepdaughter: Michael Ignatz
Police found the juvenile victim with a bruised face, neck, and collar bone, and a broken front tooth. She disclosed her stepfather, 51-year-old Michael Ignatz, put her in a chokehold, pulled her into a bedroom, and repeatedly punched her in the face. The incident happened in September of 2020, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He successfully avoided police until this week, when he was booked on the outstanding felony warrant.

A woman says her ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old Nathan McKenzie-Prohaska, came to her apartment, kicked her dog, pushed her into a wall, and threatened to “bury her in the graveyard down the street!”, according to newly filed court documents.

35-year-old Jeremy Lawrence was charged with theft of a vehicle after being involved in a hit and run in a stolen vehicle and found less than half a mile away. Once caught, he offered to “take responsibility for anything that happened”.
