34-year-old Sean Andre Gambrell Jr. was found on the sidewalk out of the arrivals level of the Nashville International Airport at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. His pants were down to his ankles and there was a near-empty jar of Old Forge Moonshine beside him. Airport police report his speech was slurred and he reeked of the smell of alcohol. He was unable to answer any questions when asked, and could not provide the contact information for anyone to come to pick him up. Due to his inability to care for himself, he was transported to booking, and charged with public intoxication.

Southwest passenger Kevin Comeaux found “dazed and confused” at airport bar

Nashville Airport Police found 22-year-old Kevin Comeaux slumped over and asleep at the bar of the Puckett’s restaurant on Concourse D. Officer awakened him for a welfare check and found him very “dazed and confused,” and it was apparent he had urinated on himself while at the bar. He refused to provide his name, only offering that he was fine and flying with Southwest Airlines. A Southwest representative responded to the bar and advised him he would be denied boarding due to his state of intoxication. The officer attempted to escort him to the unsecured side of the airport where he could be rebooked for a later flight; however, Comeaux refused to cooperate. He was taken into custody and transported to booking.

Drunk woman hands out edibles at BNA while yelling “It’s my birthday!” — Lori Rogalski arrested

Airport police took 50-year-old Lori Rogalski into custody outside of the “minute suite” she had rented near Gate 3 inside the Nashville International Airport last week. Staff initially notified officers after she stole another guest’s open alcoholic beverage, drank it, and then bought four more for herself. She was offering her mango ginger edibles to people who were walking by and yelling “It’s my birthday!” — which it was. She was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication and drug possession. Once she arrived downtown, she exclaimed “I am drunk!” while walking into booking.

Colleen Thomas says a “memory issue” caused her to steal from airport store while waiting for flight

Nashville Airport Police say 38-year-old Colleen Joy Thomas, of Virginia, walked into the Arts of the District store inside Concourse A of the Nashville Airport and stuffed her pockets full of electronics, and left the store. In addition to the multiple Apple Airtags, guitar picks, and an Apple device charger she pocketed, she grabbed a Helix power bank and a pair of Apple Airpods Max while the cashier was distracted. The store manager, Jason Messick, confronted her in the concourse and she returned the larger items she had stolen. She stated she has a “short-term memory issue” which often causes her to forget things and suggests that’s why she didn’t pay for the items.

When police arrived they asked if she had anything other than the larger items in her hands, which she “forgot” to pay for, and she stated she didn’t believe so, but had an issue with her memory. She consented to a search of her luggage and backpack, which revealed the other missing items, which brought her total theft to a value of $1,053.06.

Swave Martinez charged after he refused to walk away from fight at Nashville Airport

25-year-old Swave Martinez is charged with disorderly conduct after Airport Police say they responded to two individuals in a fight/physical altercation. After the parties were separated to determine what the issue was, Martinez continued to taunt the other individual while yelling and attempting to continue the fight. Despite multiple opportunities for Martinez to walk away, he ended up being taken into custody and transported to booking.

Jessica Shaffer arrested after “irate” outburst at Nashville Airport

44-year-old Jessica Shaffer was charged with disorderly conduct at the Nashville International Airport after police say she became “irate” at the Southwest Airlines gate area on March 30th. She was reportedly yelling profanities at the gate agents and passengers. She was denied boarding and refused to leave the area, then began to scream at police while displaying what they considered to be “threatening behavior”. The reason for her rage was not immediately known to police.

24-year-old Canadian Trucker Samuel Plourde, who has a substantial following on Tiktok, was found lying in the middle of the right turn lane of Woodland Street just after 4 a.m. Thursday. Cathy Turner walks out of Walmart with $30K in cash — then confesses, then withdraws her statement

61-year-old Cathy Turner is free on a $5,000 bond after confessing to walking out of the Walmart cash room, where she worked, with $30,860.00 according to police. Walmart management discovered a $13,700 deposit shortage on March 7th, and after reviewing security footage it was discovered that employee Cathy Turner was taking cash from the cash room and taking those bags to the restrooms in the rear of the store, where she then would leave the store with it.

Additional research discovered her taking $7,600 on February 6th, and another $9,500 on February 19th. She provided a written statement to Walmart Loss Prevention during an interview. When she spoke with police, she stated “I know this was wrong, I’ve never done anything like this before”, then requested to withdraw the written statement she had provided.

Iowa man deemed too drunk to fly Southwest Airlines, arrested at BNA— Matthew Weiner

44-year-old Matthew Weiner, of Sioux City, Iowa, was jailed on a disorderly conduct charge after Nashville Airport Police were advised he was heavily intoxicated aboard a Southwest Airlines aircraft. Airline staff escorted him off the place and he was denied re-boarding for the remainder of the day, at which time he began “flipping off” other passengers, employees, and onlookers while using profanity loudly. Police say 40-year-old Nicole Benallo was found sitting on the ground near a crosswalk at the Nashville International Airport. Callers reported she had stumbled and fallen onto the ground. 29-year-old Joshua Taylor was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail this week on an outstanding warrant from December, charging him with his role in an assault. Airport Police say there arrived a fight occurring between temp service valet employees with a crowd watching when they arrived. Security footage shows Joshua Taylor, who says he was upset about splitting tips, grabbed a wooden barstool and lifted it above his head as if he were about to strike Ronnie George. George attempted to defend himself and stop the assault, however, Montrail Gleaves, who was also a temp employee, struck George from the back and then kicked him in the head when he fell to the ground.

Police say 29-year-old Raymond Scherer was reportedly intoxicated and refusing to comply with flight attendants while boarding a plane at the Nashville Internation Airport. Airport Police say k 28-year-old Tommy Hook was “cussing out a kid on the plane” according to gate agents at Nashville International Airport. Hook was initially calm with officers but would sneak in an occasional “asshole” remark to the Southwest manager via a quick yell. He was removed from the plane so it could take off without him. When he realized he would not make the flight to Chicago that day, he started screaming expletives across the airport and became aggressive. Man drives wrong way on one-way street with two flat tires, blows 0.14 BAC — Austin Boyette

In the early hours of Saturday morning, police found 27-year-old Austin Shane Boyette driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street with two completely flat tires. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Boyette acknowledged he was aware of the two tires, stating he had attempted to fill them up with air, unsuccessfully. After failing all three field sobriety tests, Boyette blew a 0.14% BAC on the breathalyzer and admits to drinking “five beers and some wine beverages” prior to driving. Man charged with misuse of 911 after demanding police connect him with his embassy — Sami Albalawai

Metro Police eventually arrested 27-year-old Sami Awash Albalawi after he called 911 twelve times, demanding to be put in touch with his embassy. Officers responded to the first of the calls, which came from a motel near the airport, and explained that police were unable to assist him with contacting his embassy, and that he would need to contact them on his own. Police believed they had an understanding, and left Mr. Albalawai. Several more calls then accumulated at the Emergency Communications Center, who traced the first few to the same motel, and the later ones at the Nashville International Airport.

Police were eventually able to locate the man after the 12th call to 911. After it was apparent there was no clear understanding that 911 would be unable to assist him, he was transported to booking and charged with aggravated non-emergency calls. He is jailed in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

Drunk soldier arrested after pooping pants at BNA while transporting 9 assault rifles— Donovan Paywa

22-year-old recent Air Assault graduate Donovan Paywa was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Saturday afternoon after being refused service at Cafe Vino inside the Nashville Airport due to him having defecated on himself. The soldier was transporting 9 assault rifles aboard the aircraft and consumed three mixed drinks while inside the terminal. As staff noticed he had feces inside his jeans they alerted airport police, who arrived to find staff having to prop the soldier up, as he could no longer stand on his own without assistance. Officers advised Paywa he could call someone to come get him, go to the hospital to sober up and get checked out, or be arrested for public intoxication.

He repeatedly declined any assistance and started screaming “F-ck You” across the terminal, causing quite the scene. He was informed he was under arrest, and he refused to comply with the process, eventually having to be taken down by Airport Police by force as a passenger who happened to be an MP attempted to calm the young soldier, who then told the arresting officers “Your family is dead!”. Paywa was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to jail, where he was released and his case dismissed after an eight-hour intoxication hold. His social media shows him catching a return flight to New Mexico on Sunday.

43-year-old Carl Wayne Martin, of Carthage, faces multiple charges after becoming unruly at the Nashville International Airport and refusing to wear a mask, as mandated for his flight on Southwest Airlines. Airport police were called to gate C18 after Martin was denied boarding when he refused to wear a mask for COVID-19 precautions & policy.
