24-year-old Jalen Matthews is charged with the aggravated assault and strangulation of his girlfriend while in Whiskey Row in downtown Nashville. Police say an “anonymous male” who stated he was ‘intervening on the female’s behalf’ and Matthews were in a fight when they arrived. The other male was neither named nor prosecuted.

Metro Police say 22-year-old Timaria Deberry pepper-sprayed her boyfriend’s mother when she was asked to leave and got into an argument. The mother then chased her down to a parking lot, Timaria pulled out a baseball bat, and the mom defended herself with a razor blade knife.
ANTIOCH: Man stabs wife, then himself, before advancing on police
In yet another extreme case of domestic violence this week, Maria Flor Salvador, 41, was stabbed this morning at her Wildgrove Drive residence. She is in critical condition at VUMC. Detectives have been unable to interview her due to the severity of her injuries. Her husband, Eric Lopez, 53, is believed to be responsible and is also hospitalized as a result of self-inflicted stab wounds to his abdomen.

Nashville Police see Kadeem Wilkins stuff drugs into his anus. After he resists a strip search, MNPD gets a warrant & takes him to Metro General for a doctor to execute the search warrant on his anus, but the doctor refuses. He’s then taken to jail to be booked, and on the way he removes the drugs from his anus. During a DCSO search, the baggies from his anus are discovered, at which point he swallows at least one, and has to be returned to the hospital for ingesting the drugs from his anus, to await their next exit.

At twenty minutes past midnight on Friday, Metro Police were dispatched to Summit Hospital for a report of an aggravated assault victim. 30-year old Onreka Gray kicked MNPD Officer Sekou Samassi in the leg, and while MNPD Officer Laura Mullin was assisting Gray in walking into the Sally port at booking, Gray grabbed Officer Mullin on the upper part of her leg, and grabbed her ‘genital area’, causing ‘offensive contact, per an arrest report.
He then slipped and fell on the wet floor, got back up, and kneed Officer Jankiewicz in the left inner thigh.
