Canadian Football Player Ryan Bomben faces felony for bringing drugs into Nashville jail after drunken arrest

Metro Nashville Police found 34-year-old Canadian Professional Football Player Ryan Bomben banging his head against a local business in downtown Nashville, and when officers approached him he reeked of alcohol and had difficulty standing on his own. Despite multiple attempts to arrange for him to leave the area safely, there was no one to care for him and he had no idea where he was staying. He was transported to booking, where they located marijuana inside his jacket pocket once inside the facility. Bomben was charged with public intoxication and felony introducing drugs into a penal institution.

Man found asleep behind wheel blows 0.182% BAC, has suspected cocaine in wallet — Joel Bauman

37-year-old musician Joel Bauman, of The Band Royale, told police he had “two beers” at a friend’s house prior to them finding him asleep behind the wheel of his car on West End on February 20th. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Bauman would blow a 0.182% BAC on the breathalyzer. He assured officers he had nothing on him she shouldn’t have as he was being taken to jail, however, once at booking officers located a small 0.2 gram baggie of what appeared to be cocaine in his wallet, resulting in an additional felony charge.

Titans fan arrested after attempting to bite hospital staff after ambulance ride from game — Luke Lacefield

27-year-old Luke Lacefield was transported from Nissan Stadium during the Titans Game, and upon arrival at St. Thomas Midtown, ED staff observed his extreme level of intoxication as he had to be restrained to a hospital bed due to his yelling, screaming, and making threats to of harm to hospital staff.

He reportedly attempted to bite a female member of the security staff who was attempting to restrain him. Lacefield told police he has no memory of the incident.

Clarksville mother faked autistic child’s death. School laptop leads to his discovery — Vanessa Blanchard

From our partner, Clarksville Today: In October of 2021, New Providence Middle School SRO Dwayne James contacted Vanessa Blanchard to inquire why her 12-year-old son was not at school, he was informed the child had died as the result of a seizure two days prior. The school announced the child’s death and had a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses, which Blanchard said would be at Sykes Funeral Home. When the school contacted the funeral home to donate the money, they had no record of the family or any arrangements.

The school reached out to Blanchard again, and she explained the child’s body was at Tennova, awaiting an autopsy. Two weeks later, the child’s school-issued laptop was realized to be active at the Vacation Motor Motel.

Deputies responded to the location and found the boy in the room, but otherwise alive and well. Vanessa Blanchard admitted to leaving the child there alone and checking on him every other day, or so. Blanchard is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a child, and fraud – false impression of death. She remains jailed on a $5,000 bond.

DUI Crash: Travel Nurse refuses care because “I’m a nurse”, resists arrest, handgun — Megan Thaggard

32-year-old Travel Nurse Megan Elizabeth Thaggard is jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond after police found her crashed into a crosswalk pole in downtown Nashville. When they attempted to provide her with medical assistance she refused, declaring “I don’t need care, because I’m a traveling RN!” She would eventually blow a 0.151 % BAC on a breathalyzer after admitting to drinking prior to driving. She also had a 9mm Kimber loaded with hollow-point bullets in the car within her reach. She actively resisted arrest for several minutes until police were eventually able to get her into custody. She was transported a few hundred feet to booking and charged with DUI, handgun under the influence, resisting arrest, and no insurance.

Wife bites husband after trapping him in bedroom, demanding to ‘TALK NOW!’ — Jamie Davis-Jones arrested

29-year-old Jamie Davis-Jones was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Tuesday on an outstanding warrant from November, charging her with domestic assault. According to an arrest warrant and a witness statement, her husband was attempting to get some rest before work, however, she demanded they have a conversation now, so she could reportedly accuse him of cheating. As he walked to the bedroom to get some rest, she followed him and trapped him inside. When attempted to nudge back past her, she latched onto him, leaving a visible bite injury to his bicep area. She is free on a $2,000 bond.

Intoxicated man destroys musician’s car in downtown Nashville — Michael Strini visits music city

24-year-old Michael Strini was found in Downtown Nashville late Saturday night inside a car that didn’t belong to him, which he had destroyed by smashing the windshield, driver’s window, and mirror. Police say he was sweating profusely on a cool, rainy night, and left multiple dents and bloody body prints on the vehicle. He told police he had been “drinking heavily”, and later posted a $2,000 cash bond. Strini recently moved to Spring Hill, TN, where he noted on social media he was “visiting Nashville for a few months”.

21-year-old Jacob Goin was charged with DUI Friday after police say drove off the shoulder of I-65 South only to hit a guardrail and cross back across the interstate to then hit the center wall before coming to rest in the left lanes of traffic. He told police had drunk “on and off” and blew a 0.242 BAC on the breathalyzer test.
