COVID enforcement results in 59 citations and 3 arrests over Labor Day weekend
Officers over the Labor Day weekend took a number of enforcement actions with the goal of seeing the declining trend of COVID-19 cases in Nashville continue. There were 4 parties and events stopped, 59 citations issued, and 3 arrests made over the weekend.
Nashville’s Mayor Cooper allows Strip Clubs & Hookah Bars Open; Downtown Bars Closed
Downtown Nashville bars remained closed this weekend, and when they re-open Monday they will have a 25-patron limit enforced on them. Meanwhile, Nashville’s strip clubs and Hookah bars continue to push capacity limits with no restrictions enforced by Nashville’s Mayor John Cooper, whose office declined to comment on this story.
Nashville Police issued 1,900 verbal mask warnings and issued 16 citations Saturday night during the same period.

In an announcement Tuesday morning, city officials announced that Nashville will retreat to a hybrid version of Phase II of the COVID-19 reopening plan. Bars will be closed for two weeks, starting tonight. No downtown fireworks. No large gatherings.
Metro issues citations to Kid Rock’s Bar +13 other businesses for violating COVID-19 health orders
The Metro Nashville Health Department has cited Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk Bar and 13 additional businesses for being out of compliance with emergency Health Department Orders. Dr. Caldwell visited Kid Rock’s after receiving a complaint about the bar on Friday night. The citation was issued last night and a decision on the amount of the fine will be made during the court appearance.
Clarksville car club’s ‘Corona Cruise’ draws large crowds, defies ‘stay-at-home’ order
The Clarksville Gearhead Car Club & Vet Speed Racing defied city, county, and state ‘stay-at-home’ orders Saturday and held a mass gathering, branded as a ‘Corona Cruise’. Videos & photos show approximately 60 people attended the event, which did not practice social distancing or other precautions amid the COVID19 pandemic.

A newly released disciplinary report shows that Registered Nurse Jessica Rayburn has admitted to diverting narcotics while working at St. Thomas West in Nashville. Her license has been suspended for a minimum of six months.

The Tennessee Board of Nursing has suspended the license of a Dickson, TN, Nurse, Adrienne Leigh Barber, after she returned from her lunch break with a BAC level of 0.387 – more than 4x the limit to drive in Tennessee.
