27-year-old Des’Ree White approached Metro Nashville Police Officers on Broadway in downtown Nashville and demanded they escort her to her vehicle. As the conversation continued, another female approached White and asked White if she would like her to walk her to her car instead of the police. White became visibly upset and angered and threw her cell phone at the other female. Officers took White into custody for disorderly conduct.

Russell Garner charged with assaulting wife after she takes his phone to search it during divorce

36-year-old Russ L. Garner was jailed Saturday on a warrant charging him with the domestic assault of his wife, Kelly Macfarlane, who recently filed for divorce, citing inappropriate marital conduct and irreconcilable differences. She says she asked to see his cell phone due to “suspicious behavior” at which point she gained access, however, a struggle ensued. The victim provided body-worn camera footage of what she says were injuries from the assault and states she was threatened to not mention the assault to the police.

A filing in the divorce case from Russ Garner sheds additional light on the incident, stating that she took his phone and hid it behind her back, and began kicking him. He admits to grabbing her wrist in an attempt to stop her from kicking him and to retrieve his stolen phone. All this happened while their child watched from a playpen. Police did not immediately make an arrest in the case, it was several weeks after the wife visited the Family Safety Center, and she had to take out the warrant herself, it was not signed by the police as the prosecutor.

Steven Clark subdued by citizen after attacking car at White Castle drive-thru in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police say Corric Crawford had chased down and detained 30-year-old Steven Clark before they arrived, after he attacked Crawford’s vehicle at the downtown White Castle drive-thru. Multiple witnesses report Crawford was in the drive-thru when Clark jumped on his vehicle, causing severe damage to the hood and smashing out the rear windshield. Clark fled, and Crawford drove around until he located him. Armed with a knife, Crawford confronted Clark, cleared him for any weapons, then held him until police arrived. One witness states the victim may have assaulted Clark when he confronted him, but no associated charges were filed. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $6,000.

Riley Roach arrested by MNPD’s #BigMad cop David Snowden after ‘not following orders’

Metro Nashville Police Officer David Snowden says 25-year-old Riley Lee Roach refused to obey his “lawful orders” when he directed him to find his friend and get a ride home from downtown Nashville. Snowden claims that Roach was “causing trouble” with a food vendor so he demanded he leave the area. When the officer asked if he had too much to drink, Roach replied “not yet”. When Roach told Officer Snowden he wasn’t leaving or going anywhere, the bully MNPD officer told him he was placing him under arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct for “refusing to obey a lawful order” according to an arrest warrant.

Robert Hernandez can’t pay $1800 bar tab at Layer Cake; assaults bouncer

Metro Nashville Police officers working the Entertainment District Initiative Saturday encountered 29-year-old Robert Hernandez who was unable to pay his $1,807.78 bar tab at Layer Cake on 3rd Ave. South and became belligerent when his card continued to be declined. Security stated they asked him to leave the establishment and he attempted to throw punches and landed one on a bouncer’s arm. Hernandez was charged with theft of services and public intoxication.

Soldier Maxim Donaher too drunk to drive, a friend took his keys, so he punched the friend & his car

25-year-old U.S. Army Soldier Maxim Donaher was drinking at the Red Door Saloon on Division Street and became so intoxicated that his friend who worked there took his car keys from him. Near the end of the evening, Donaher demand his keys to leave the bar, and the friend urged him to check into the hotel next door as he was not sober enough to drive. When he realized his friend was not going to return his keys, he went outside and began punching the friend’s car. The friend attempted to restrain him, and a fight ensued, but Donaher was eventually restrained until police arrived. The friend didn’t want to prosecute for the assault or the vandalism, but did want him removed from the bar. Officers asked the soldier to take an Uber or get a hotel room, both of which were refused. An arrest warrant states “he told the responding officers to just take him to jail and we obliged.”

Markus Higgs found unresponsive in downtown Nashville alley; assaults those helping him

In the early morning hours of July 1st, 29-year-old Markus Higgs was found unresponsive in an alley near 417 Broadway in downtown Nashville. As officers checked on his welfare, they could see he had slight breath movements in his chest, but either could not or would not answer any questions such as who he was, where he was, how old he was, or what he was doing there. Medics responded to the scene and assisted him to a stretcher when he suddenly swung at one of the first responders and began screaming at police and kicking at officers, making impact with Officer Wheatley’s chest. He was then cuffed, restrained, and transported to booking.

Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville encountered 28-year-old Luke Peter Knight late Friday night as security from Tootsie’s had asked him to leave the location multiple times and he refused. Officers observed Knight to be heavily intoxicated and with slurred speech when he spoke to them. Due to his inability to care for himself and his level of intoxication he was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Kelly Holmes charged in theft of ex-boyfriend’s dog

Cory Mascari says he was out of town on June 3rd & 4th and his roommate was caring for his dog. Just before 1 a.m. on June 4th a window sensor detected movement at his home, and shortly after his roommate called the police to report the dog had been stolen. Several days later, his ex-girlfriend, 33-year-old Kelly Holmes took the dog to Value Vet and asked to his the dog’s records transferred. The staff contacted the victim, to whom the dog was registered over a decade ago, and has been the sole owner, who then contacted the police to provide an update. The veterinarian’s office provided a video of the woman with the dog, who was his ex-girlfriend, who had not had access to the dog since they broke up in July of 2021. With the clear ownership history of the dog, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Brittnie Dodson: drunk and disorderly at Nashville International Airport

As Nashville Airport Police were responding to a medical emergency call at gate C22 Saturday afternoon, and simultaneously there was a drunk and disorderly person call near the same area. As officers and medics were tending to the first call and speaking to the passenger, the person from the drunk & disorderly call, identified as 29-year-old Brittnie Dodson, began to stick her iPhone in the face of first responders, demanding to be escorted out of the area. An officer broke away from the medical call to escort Dodson to a taxi, however, she kept touching the officer while filming and weaving and wobbling while attempting to walk. After she started yelling obscenities across the airport she was eventually taken into custody and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

MNPD arrests man screaming “Allahu Akbar” in downtown Nashville — Timothy Taylor

Metro Nashville Police jailed 36-year-old Timothy Taylor after they say he was walking along Broadway in downtown Nashville Saturday night while screaming “Allahu Akbar” at tourists and others enjoying the city. The arresting officer states in an arrest report that Taylor was “disturbing surrounding individuals and making them nervous due to the constant screaming of “Allahu Akbar.” Officer Ronald Conner says he immediately placed him into custody after this behavior and notes that earlier Taylor was seen talking “with motorcycle club members” and was asked to move along after officers felt a fight was about to occur.

Samantha Freitas threatens to kick MNPD officers in balls if they don’t arrest her

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, 35-year-old tourist Samantha Freitas approached a Metro Nashville Police officer near 2nd & Broadway and walked into traffic, and demanded to be arrested. She was told to get out of traffic and move on about her evening. She then became verbally aggressive and told the officers she would kick them all in the balls if they did not arrest her. Officers decided she was obviously too intoxicated to care for herself and took her into custody and transported her to booking.

Nashville Bishop Kenneth Dupree pulls gun on neighbor, threatens to “put her in an obituary”

Metro Nashville Police say security camera footage captured 65-year-old retired Bishop Kenneth Dupree pulling a silver handgun on his neighbor and pointing it directly at her while stating: “I will put you in an obituary and sh**t you, you M*-*-*F*-*-*g b*-*h.

The incident occurred after the neighbor, Jenine Di Conti, says Dupree was speeding through the neighborhood and nearly hit someone so she turned the garden hose, which was already in her hand, in the direction of the vehicle in an attempt to get his attention to slow down and watch out for the other person. After parking his vehicle, he returned to the neighbor’s home and made the threats, with her husband as a witness. He said she harassed him and “if it would be up to him, if she came to his property today, she would be laying in his driveway.” Police took Dupree into custody and transported him to booking. He had secured his firearm inside his residence before officers arrived.

Alycia Stewart attacks Downtown Partnership Ambassador on his Segway

36-year-old Alycia Stewart pulled Jenario Thornton, a downtown partnership ambassador, to the ground near 4th & Broadway as she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, refusing to let him go as he was riding by on a Segway. He suffered scrapes to his knees as a result of the assault. Witnesses provided a video that showed Stewart appearing to be under the influence of a drug, and a search of her bag incident to arrest resulted in what appeared to be a crack pipe. As officers responded to the scene she declared “I’m high, take me to jail!”, and they obliged.

Lavoriss Hyde Jr. steals vehicle of friend’s mother who was letting him live with her

Angela Ford says she’s been letting 18-year-old Lavoriss Hyde Jr., who is a friend of her son, stay at her home for the last three months. On June 15th, she called police to report her vehicle had been stolen, and she believed Hyde had stolen it. She explained the vehicle had recently been repaired by a mechanic, and the mechanic had told her to be sure to occasionally run the engine if she wasn’t using the vehicle regularly. She was on her way to work and had asked Hyde to start the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes while she was gone. When she came home, the vehicle was not in the driveway and Hyde was not at home, either.

Police quickly realized they knew what had happened to her vehicle, as they responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash earlier that afternoon just a half-mile from her home where a person matching Hyde’s description had fled from the scene. Officers recovered video footage of Hyde taking the vehicle, and photos from witnesses to the crash, confirming he was the driver.

Tekera Gaines charged with vandalizing girlfriend’s door & camera

29-year-old Tekera Gaines was jailed this week on multiple outstanding warrants charging her with vandalism and violating an order of protection. Her girlfriend, Michelle Chestnut, reported to police that she came home on June 19th to find both her front door and her Ring Doorbell camera covered with black spray paint. She says the couple argued earlier in the day and were in the process of breaking up after Gaines accused her of cheating.

Anthony Agnew breaks into ex’s apartment, sits beside her until she wakes up

Police say 32-year-old Anthony Agnew came to an empty apartment on the 4th floor beside his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and broke into that unit so that he could crawl out the window to access the balcony of the next-door apartment of his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Davis. He then reportedly entered her residence while she was sleeping. She says she woke up with her sitting next to her with his hand on her hip. She was in extreme fear he would assault her and explained she needed to leave for work. He was upset that she had changed her number and agreed to leave after she gave him her current Snapchat as a way to communicate. As he left, she contacted police who located him at a nearby truck stop and arrested him for this burglary and two other outstanding warrants for violating orders of protection.

Nicholas Thomas-Low jailed after pulling his girlfriend’s hair — Vanderbilt Researchers Gone Wild

Vanderbilt University Police heard a loud argument coming from a vehicle parked on Pierce Avenue just before 11 p.m. on June 29th. The female in the driver’s seat, identified as Jessica Erin Biddinger, was repeatedly screaming at 36-year-old Nicholas Thomas-Low to get out of the vehicle. The couple state they have been in a dating relationship for approximately two years, on and off. As police approached the situation to check on everyone’s welfare, she stated Thomas-Low had grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled it as she attempted to get him out of her vehicle. When she yelled that he hurt her, he reportedly said “good!” He was transported to booking and charged with domestic assault.

DUI: Michael Collier says he sniffed unknown powder on a receipt paper before blacking out

Metro Nashville Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-40 where a Kia Sportage driven by 25-year-old Michael Collier impacted a guardrail near the Central Pike ramp. First responders arrived to find Collier unresponsive behind the wheel. After finding a white powdery substance in the cup holder, two doses of Narcan were administered with no impact on his level of responsiveness throughout the emergency transport. As the ambulance arrived at the hospital bay, Collier suddenly eloped from the gurney and fled on foot for a short distance until stopped by officers and detained. He told officers he picked up a receipt from the cup holder and noticed the powder on his fingers and sniffed his fingers to see what it was on the receipt. Seconds after sniffing his fingers he says he blacked out and woke up in the back of the ambulance. Brandon Holliday charged after posting a sex tape of his wife and a friend together

Latoyia Anderson is still married to 39-year-old Brandon Holliday, but she says that’s only because he refuses to sign the divorce paperwork. Latoyia reported to police that the two were in an argument when Brandon threatened to post a sex tape of her and another friend together on social media. Brandon was sent the video by the other friend in an attempt to make him jealous. Shortly after the argument, the video of her having sex with the friend appeared on social media and was also sent via private message to multiple people on Facebook.

Kevon Shinault jailed on $80K bond after pulling handgun & making threats

21-year-old Kevon Shinault was reportedly in an argument with his girlfriend, Savanah Luffman, about the house being dirty. She says Kevon grabbed her by the hair and attempted to throw her down the stairs, threw her on the bed, and pulled at her clothes. When she yelled downstairs for her mother, April Goodrich, to call the police, Kevon reportedly pulled a handgun from his waistband, racked the slide, and asked if she wanted to die today, further stating if the cops came that everyone would. Marcus Torres charged in assault of wife after accusing her of cheating

Lidia Lopez Alonzo says she and her husband, 27-year-old Marcus Torres, were arguing after he accused her of cheating. As the argument escalated, she says he got on top of her while she was on the bed and began to strangle her with both hands, and then punched her in the head as she attempted to fight back. She was eventually able to escape from his assault and contact police. Torres claims his wife attacked him.
