DUI: Darius Adams crashes after leaving Play Dance Bar Sunday Night, blows 0.136% BAC

Police say 21-year-old Darius Adams crashed a black Cadillac Escalade just after 4 a.m. Monday near Charlotte Pike and River Road. Adams was found asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was blocking a lane of travel, and the engine was running. An open can of Cayman Jack was in the center console, and Darius Adams told officers he had come from Play Dance Bar, where he drank a shot of fireball and other shots that men bought for him. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.136% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Car show enthusiast Jose Cruz jailed for driving without a license

18-year-old Jose Cruz was leaving a car meet in his red Mustang on Franklin Pike as officers pulled into the parking lot where the sideshow was happening on Franklin Pike. Officers noticed the clear plastic cover on the temporary license plate made it unreadable and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Cruz stated he did not a driver’s license and was taken into custody on the charge as officers were unable to positively identify him for a citation.

Tourist Ryan Whitney refuses to use a crosswalk in downtown Nashville, resists arrest

Metro Nashville Police stopped 40-year-old Ryan Whitney as he was attempting to cross Broadway in downtown Nashville where there was no crosswalk. Whitney walked a short distance away and then returned and began to drunkenly yell and scream at the police, demanding an explanation of why he could not cross there. Police told him to move along about his evening multiple times and gave him one final chance to walk away before advising him he was under arrest for public intoxication. He then resisted arrest and had to be placed against a wall by multiple officers to get him in both handcuffs.

Tourist James Peet found passed out in downtown alley, drunk and armed with a handgun

56-year-old James Chester Peet of New York was found passed out in downtown Nashville in an alley near 4th & Broadway in the early hours of Sunday morning. Once he was awoken, officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from Peet, and he was obviously too intoxicated to care for himself. As an ambulance was called to assist him, Peet disclosed he had a handgun on his hip. After he declined further medical treatment, he was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.

DUI: Jordan Roberts drives crashed car to gas station & passes out at the pumps

Police say 22-year-old Jordan Roberts crashed his car in the early hours of Sunday morning and fled the crash site in his damaged vehicle. He was later found unresponsive in his vehicle at the 7-Eleven on Hwy 70 South. Nashville Fire was the first on scene and observed Roberts to be unresponsive behind the wheel while parked at a gas pump, with the car covered in debris from the earlier crash. Inside the vehicle was a half-consumed can of beer. Roberts had regained consciousness by the time police arrived, and they reported he reeked of alcohol. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and would later blow a 0.144% BAC on a breathalyzer.

18-year-old Grant Philip Winn was driving a vehicle that crashed into another vehicle head-on on I-65 South in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police say Winn was driving Northbound in the Southbound lanes when the crash occurred. Zyshonn Burleson charged in assault of bouncer at Play Dance Bar in Nashville

22-year-old Zyshonn Burleson is charged with the assault of a bouncer at Play Dance Bar on Church Street in Nashville who refused to let him enter a closed portion of the venue. Jelani Kimber says as the club was closing early Saturday morning, parts of the club were blocked off to move people to the front of the club. Kimber was holding his arm out to let patrons know they could not enter this particular area when Burleson approached and began to call him names and used his hand to push the bouncer in the face, causing him to fall backward. Kimber then detained Burleson until police arrived.

Landon Myers floored after fight at Legends Corner, charged with cocaine possession & drunkenness

Metro Nashville Police working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville encountered 24-year-old Landon Myers of Rome City, Indiana, who had been in a fight with another patron at Legends Corner. When officers arrived, Myers was on the floor of the venue and had dropped his wallet, which had his ID visible from the outside front sleeve. In it, officers also observed a baggie that is believed to be cocaine. After being evaluated, Myers refused any further medical treatment and left the EMS vehicle. He showed signs of being extremely intoxicated and was taken into custody for public intoxication and drug possession.

DUI: Andrew Scott drives home speeding & dragging front bumper, totally oblivious

28-year-old Andrew Scott faces a DUI charge after police observed him driving just before 4 a.m. Sunday while dragging his front bumper along with him on the ground at 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on White Bridge Pike. A subsequent traffic stop revealed him to be the driver of the vehicle, and he told officers he was returning from a friend’s house and CookOut and eventually admitted to drinking both beer and liquor prior to driving. He seemed surprised there was damage to the front end of his vehicle, despite the horrendous noise it was making on the roadway before the stop, but eventually stated he might have run over a curb. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

35-year-old Andres Gamboa of Franklin, TN, is charged with disorderly conduct after he was involved in a fight at Luke Bryan’s Bar in downtown Nashville early Sunday morning. Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative approached Gamboa to de-escalate the situation when Gamboa refused to let go of the other patron and continued to be aggressive. James Davis charged after following & punching woman in face in downtown Nashville

Police met with Kasey Brill late Saturday night in downtown Nashville as she was crying and holding the left side of her face. She told officers a man, identified as 56-year-old James Davis of Franklin, TN, had been following her friend group around the bars and kept staring at her as she was in line to buy hot dogs. That was when she confronted Davis and asked, “is everything alright, or is there a problem?” Davis reportedly replied, “what the fuck?” and as she turned to walk away, Davis punched her in her left eye, knocking her to the ground. Brill’s father assisted in detaining Davis and reportedly punched him in the face during the incident involving his daughter.

Tyler Cobb charged after bringing a UHaul to a car meet/sideshow [video]

21-year-Tyler Cobb is charged with aggravated reckless driving and felony evading arrest after he drove a UHaul truck to a car meet/sideshow Friday night (video below). At the time of his arrest, he was free on a $50,000 bond from a February incident in which he allegedly pointed a gun at two persons who were taunting car meet participants with “rubber testicles.” Officers observed him doing donuts in the UHaul during the meet on Corporate Drive, and he fled from an MNPD lieutenant who was using lights and sirens. a THP chopper followed Cobb until he was ultimately apprehended by a THP Trooper in Murfreesboro. He was charged with additional offenses in Rutherford County.

Street Racers Patrick Jones & Marricus Duncan charged & freed on pre-trial release after fleeing police

Police say 27-yea-old Patrick Leon Jones was traveling south on Franklin Pike at 81 mph in a 45 mph zone Friday night. As the officer activated his lights and sirens, Jones increased the speed of his Dodge Charger, with the officer catching up with him near Harding Place, but as the lights and sirens were activated a second time, Jones fled, and the patrol car didn’t give chase. 23-year-old Marricus Duncan was a passenger in the vehicle. AirOne followed the car through downtown Nashville and eventually to an apartment complex on Tampa Drive, where officers eventually took both men into custody. Jones bragged in booking that he could see the cops behind him, and they never caught up in their cars.

Street Racer Derrick Vassar free on pre-trial release after police chase [VIDEO]

Despite an initial $10,500 bond, 23-year-old Derrick Vassar is free on pre-trial release after fleeing from police working the street racing initiative Friday night. AirOne was surveilling the area near Firestone Parkway and Old Hickory Blvd when Vassar, driving a matte black Chevrolet Corvette, was seen doing donuts in the parking lot of a Thornton’s convenience store [video below], where there was a “sea of vehicles,” according to police, who say Vassar had already fled a traffic stop. As he exited the parking lot, he traversed to I-24 with multiple police vehicles in pursuit with full lights and sirens. AirOne noted that Vasser bailed out of the vehicle on Crossing Place and fled on foot until he was apprehended nearby. Police say he tensed up and pulled away while being arrested, and the tag on the Corvette belonged to a Ford vehicle.

DUI: Jesus admits to drinking “A Fuck Ton” of beers prior to driving

21-year-old Jesus Morales Mejia told police he drank “a f*/k ton” of beers before crashing his vehicle onto its roof on Glenrose Ave Monday afternoon. He initially limped away from the scene, according to witnesses, and police encountered him a short distance away to check on his welfare. He stated he wasn’t sure why he crashed but told officers he drank “a f*-k ton” of beers before driving. When asked to clarify that, he further stated, “20 Modelo beers.” He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI.

Jason Johnson arrested after not being able to have a specific room at Goodlettsville hotel

40-year-old Jason Johnson walked into the lobby of a Goodlettsville hotel Thursday and demanded to rent room 227. The room was dirty and wasn’t available to be rented out, and refused to accept any other room. He began to scream and curse at the lobby staff, and police arrived to assist. He initially exited the hotel but quickly returned. Eventually, officers and hotel staff took him to room 227 to show him it was dirty, but his rampage continued. Left with no other option, he was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

DUI: Lucas Gonzales says a stranger gave him a Roxicodone to make him feel better

23-year-old Lucas Gonzales told police he wasn’t feeling well when he left work Monday, so he stopped at a gas station on his way home. He claims a “random guy” gave him a “little blue pill, called a Roxi,” and told him it would “make him feel better and help with his anxiety.” Gonzales swallowed the pill from the alleged stranger and continued on his quest toward home. As he made it to the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Smith Springs Road, he passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle and was brought back to the land of the living when Nashville Fire medics used Narcan on him when they arrived at the scene. Medics reported he only had a faint heartbeat when they arrived. He is charged with DUI.

35-year-old Scott Rice was found screaming and pounding on the doors of the Capitol Towers Apartment building in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Friday morning. When officers arrived, he had fallen asleep at the front of the location, and believed he had a room at the property, which was not a hotel, and believed he was in Canada. Officers say he reeked of alcohol and was extremely intoxicated. Unable to care for himself after a night of downtown drinking, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Metro Police say 36-year-old Shannon May Crothers was driving on West End with no headlights in the early hours of Friday morning. She was slow to respond after an officer initiated a traffic stop but eventually parked in an alley between 16th & 17th Ave. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking a “few beers” at an event with friends. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.164% BAC on a breathalyzer —double the legal limit in Tennessee.

Tywansha Perkins charged in assault of Metro School bus driver

Video from a MNPS bus shows 36-year-old Tywansha Yvette Perkins waited for her child’s bus to drop him off and then entered the bus before any children could exit. She got in the face of the bus driver, put a finger in the driver’s face, and yelled, “Imma f*-k you up!” and continued to yell and curse and escalate the situation while the driver remained calm but afraid. The children exited around Perkins, and she then left the bus, too. Perkins was reportedly up prior video footage from the school bus proved that her son was not telling the truth when he told her the school bus driver assaulted him by shoving him and slapping candy from his hand. A judge released her on her own recognizance.
