Adam Lowe charged after grabbing his girlfriend by her hair in downtown Nashville

25-year-old Adam Michael Lowe was detained by Jobie Alexander and other citizens in downtown Nashville after he was observed grabbing his girlfriend by the hair. The couple was near 4th & Broadway amid an argument when downtown security officers asked them to move along. Lowe was being belligerent and refusing to go with his girlfriend and others, and that’s when he grabbed her by the hair. He was detained until police arrived, at which point he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jordan Phillips jailed after dancing in the streets of downtown Nashville

21-year-old Jordan Stephen Phillips was dancing in the street in front of Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar at 2:39 a.m. Sunday, while a vehicle was attempting to pass by him. Phillips continued to talk on his phone, dance, and obstruct the roadway, despite being asked to get out of the street by officers working the Entertainment District Initiative. Due to his level of intoxication and inability to care for himself, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Michaela Richards bites MNPD officer in the leg, attempts to assault others during arrest

Metro Nashville Police officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville early Sunday morning were flagged down for a fight near 2nd & Broadway.25-year-old Michaela Richards had approached a vehicle in the roadway and punched the window. Witnesses say she then shoved another female on the sidewalk. Officers say they “corralled” her and took her into custody for public intoxication. While waiting for entry into the jail, Michaela bit an officer on the leg, causing an injury, attempted to bite two more, kicked an officer in the face, and attempted to headbutt an officer.

VIDEO: MNPD Detective decommissioned after assaulting a homeless man on a public street

The Metro Nashville Police Department has decommissioned Detective William Thorowgood after he assaulted a homeless man on a public roadway outside his home, who he claimed was littering. He attacks the man, knocking him to the ground and placing a knee on his chest while telling him he’s detained and he would be in cuffs if he had them with him. Thorowgood, who has been with the department for ten years and served as a Fraud Detective, reported the incident to his supervisor on Monday, December 12, and was decommissioned the same day. After the assault in the video [full 17 minutes included in the story], Thorowgood calls 911 and reports the homeless man is armed and advancing toward him, both of which the video shows to be untrue. Jason Mcintire charged in attempted murder of his brother during home renovation dispute

47-year-old Jason McIntire was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with the attempted murder of his brother, Brian Patrick Mcintire. According to the police, Jason and his brother were renovating a house on Shihmen Ct in Antioch when he got fed up with being berated by his brother for his work renovating a shower. He went outside to calm down, but after walking around for a period of time, he grabbed his .357 revolver from the company box truck and went back inside to his brother began berating him again, and Jason fired two shots at close range. At least one of the two shots struck the victim in the upper abdomen. There was a brief scuffle over control of the gun, and two more shots were fired. Once Jason regained control of the gun, he went back outside and put the gun back in the truck. A third person, Rhonda Ellis, was working with the Mcintire Brothers, told police she didn’t witness the altercation but did find the victim lying on the floor moaning afterward, and Brian told her it was Jason who shot him.

Cianna Wright charged in assault of juvenile sister; smashes her iPad

18-year-old Cianna Wright is charged with the domestic assault of her juvenile sister after their mother told police that Cianna was undoubtedly the primary aggressor in the family fight. The mother walked in to witness Cianna slam the victim’s iPad on the counter, causing it to shatter. As the mother attempted to calm them both, Cianna began to grab her sister’s hair and punch her. Cianna fled the home before officers arrived and was booked on the outstanding warrant this week.

Terry Waters takes off his belt and “whoops” his girlfriend during assault

20-year-old Terry Jerome Waters reportedly walked in the front door of his girlfriend’s home on Prince Avenue on December 12th while she was doing her hair. She said he immediately yelled, “Bitch, you be lying,” as he took off his belt. She asked, “What are you going to do, whoop me?” and whoop her, he did. Waters reportedly stuck her repeatedly with the belt and bit her on the arm before fleeing the scene. Officers documented injuries on the victim, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked into jail on December 15th.

Desmon Davidson, 20, had “seven or eight” shots of liquor before driving

20-year-old Desmon Davidson was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning and charged with underage driving while impaired, underage possession of alcohol, and driving with an open container. Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 24 southeast of Downtown Nashville where they found Desmon in the driver seat, displaying clear signs of intoxication. Davidson performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and admitted to consuming “seven to eight shots” of liquor prior to driving. Inside the vehicle was an open bottle of liquor. In September 2022, Davidson pleaded a DUI charge down to reckless driving in a deferred judgment agreement.

Arrica Brown pulls up and punches Tyceanna Steele after making threats all day

25-year-old Arrica A. Brown was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Thursday afternoon for an outstanding warrant from January, charging her with assault. The warrant alleges Arrica went to the home of Tyceanna Steele-Fitzgerald and demanded she come outside after she had sent harassing and threatening text messages all day. Tyceanna and her fiancé Charles stepped outside to de-escalate the situation when Arrica allegedly struck Tyceanna in the face repeatedly and fled the scene. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

John Swoboda identified as man who jumped from 36th floor of Four Seasons in downtown Nashville in apparent suicide

Metro Nashville Police have identified 29-year-old John Christian Swoboda as the man who jumped from the 36th floor of the Four Seasons Residences building in downtown Nashville on the morning of December 8th in an apparent suicide. Swoboda was from Mt. Juliet, where here was reported missing to local police on December 7th. He reportedly left his phone, identification, and cash at his residence. Police say Swoboda took an elevator to the 36th floor, where witnesses who were working in a vacant room noticed him walk through the room and straight out onto the balcony, where he reportedly jumped to his death. The witnesses initially assumed he was another construction worker when he walked onto the floor.

Michigan Tourist Craig Colpean says wife “corralled” him, police say he assaulted her

62-year-old Craig Colpean and his wife, Leslie Ann, are visiting Nashville from Michigan. Police responded to a call in the early hours of Thursday morning at the Opryland Hotel after Craig called 911 to advise of an incident that occurred an hour earlier, around 1 a.m. He told responding officers they had been drinking and that his wife had “corralled him” in the corner of the room during an argument over work and aggressively pushed him. His wife gave a much different account, stating that he had pushed her multiple times and was intimidating toward her. She says she only pushed him in self-defense. Officers observed multiple wine glasses knocked over, causing a lot of “mess” and damage inside the room. Based on the totality of the circumstances, the evidence inside the room, and the video of Craig casually leaving the room after the incident, he was determined to be the primary aggressor. Police say he also has prior arrests for domestic violence in Michigan.

Israel Montiel Mezo charged with domestic assault after alleged rape of ex-girlfriend

33-year-old Israel Montiel Mezo is charged with burglary and domestic assault after his ex-girlfriend, Kimberly Black, says he forced his way into her hotel room, grabbed her and forced her onto the bed. She says he pulled down her clothing and penetrated her with his fingers as she screamed for help. As she got up to flee, she says he ripped her shirt as he also fled the scene. Officers documented abrasions on her neck and chest and issued warrants for Mezo’s arrest, charging him with domestic assault and aggravated burglary. He was booked on the outstanding warrants this week.
