Citizens called police to report teenagers were firing pellets from a water pellet gun at random people in downtown Nashville late Friday night. Officers located one of the teens, 18-year-old Eli Sherrill, in a parking garage at 314 Church Street. It was determined Eli’s truck was parked in the garage, and as officers approached, they could see the handle of an actual handgun under a tire in the bed of the truck; it was loaded with a round in the chamber. Inside the cab of the truck, officers located water pellets, two water pellet guns, and a bottle of liquor
Eli Sherrill of Dogwood Dr in Ashland City, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on January 4th, charged with possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and possession of a weapon. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,000.
