DUI: Andrew Scott drives home speeding & dragging front bumper, totally oblivious

28-year-old Andrew Scott faces a DUI charge after police observed him driving just before 4 a.m. Sunday while dragging his front bumper along with him on the ground at 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on White Bridge Pike. A subsequent traffic stop revealed him to be the driver of the vehicle, and he told officers he was returning from a friend’s house and CookOut and eventually admitted to drinking both beer and liquor prior to driving. He seemed surprised there was damage to the front end of his vehicle, despite the horrendous noise it was making on the roadway before the stop, but eventually stated he might have run over a curb. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

A judicial commissioner set his bond at $3,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Scott was booked as “Scott Andrew,” with this first and last name reversed in court records. The correct name was verified via property records referenced from his bond-out address.
