College Football’s Josh ‘Big Country’ Griffis charged after forcing way into woman’s home in Nashville

20-year-old NCAA football player Josh ‘Big Country’ Griffis is free on a $10,000 bond after he tore apart the door frame of a woman’s apartment in Nashville and forced his way inside the residence where held her against her will for over an hour. Despite the destroyed doorframe, he told police that she “invited him inside”. The 6’4, 260 lb, player, who just trasnferred from FSU, is charged with multiple felonies, including aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, and interference with a 911 call.

ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
Officers were dispatched to the above location. Officers spoke with the victim who stated that she was woken up in the middle of the night by a loud noise at approximately 0200 hours on 09-05-2021. The victim stated that she discovered the defendant in her apartment with the door frame broken.

Prior to this incident, the victim stated that she told the defendant multiple times that she did not want him to come to her apartment at all. The victim stated that she attempted to call 911 because of the defendant forcing his way into her apartment without her permission.

The victim stated that the defendant held her phone and did not give her phone back to her. The victim stated that she attempted to leave the apartment but was unable to due to the defendant preventing her from leaving for approximately an hour.

The victim stated that she then found an opportunity to grab her keys while he was distracted and leave the apartment to seek police assistance. Officers soon discovered the door of the apartment to be broken and the defendant inside the apartment. The defendant appeared to be intoxicated.

The defendant stated that he was invited to the apartment earlier by the victim. The defendant made conflicting statements to officers such as the victim allowing him to enter her apartment and that she had been drinking.

Officers found the victim’s phone in the immediate vicinity of the defendant inside the apartment Officers then placed the defendant in physical custody and charged him with aggravated burglary, interfering with an emergency call, and false imprisonment.
