DUI: Narcan saves life of man found slumped over wheel after crash — amphetamines, heroin, suboxone & more

22-year-old Gavin Reese Bain was revived by the use of 3 doses of Narcan after he was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle after a crash with a hypodermic in the floorboard beneath him and a marijuana pipe in the glove compartment. He admitted to having used marijuana, amphetamines, heroin, suboxone, and Zyprexa recently.

Metro Nashville Police arrived at the scene of a single-car crash on July 30th and located Gavin Bain slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. Officer administered the first dose of Narcan, followed by Paramedics from NFD who administered two additional doses before he was revived from the overdose. He admitted he had use Suboxone and Zyprexa before driving. Officers additionally located a hypodermic syringe in the floorboard beneath him. He consented to a blood draw and admitted that he had used marijuana, amphetamines, heroin, Suboxone, and Zyprexa in the past few days. Officers also located a marijuana pipe in the glove compartment.

Gavin Reese Bain, 22, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 7:11 p.m. on 07/30, charged with driving under the influence, and two counts of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He is free on pre-trial release. At the time of his arrest, his booking number indicated he has prior charge(s) which have been expunged from his record.
