Nashville man to 911: “I caught my wife cheating, slapped her, and I need to go to jail”

48-year-old Mojica Socorro Ortiz called Metro Nashville’s emergency dispatch center Sunday afternoon to report he caught his wife cheating with another man, slapped her, and wanted to go to jail. He waited for police at the end of his driveway, where he was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Metro Nashville Police responded to 3205 Southlake Drive on Sunday in response to an unusual domestic assault call. As they arrived, they observed Mojica Ortiz standing at the end of his driveway waiting for them. Ortiz was the one who called the police to report he had found out his wife was cheating on him with another man, and during an argument about the cheating, he hit her in the face with an open hand one time. In the call, he told dispatch he wanted to go to jail now.

The victim confirmed the account with police, however, officers observed no visible injuries to her or her property. Due to Ortiz’s admission, he was charged with domestic assault.

Mojica Socorro Ortiz, 48, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 5:41 PM on Sunday, March 7th, 2021. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released after the state-mandated 12-hour hold.
