30-year-old Timothy Williams was indicted December 2nd on two counts of statutory rape. Williams was a Mt. Juliet teacher and coach for both track and football. The incident happened in June and the victim was a 16-year-old student.
On December 2nd, an indictment was filed with the Davidson County Court Clerk against now-former Mt. Juliet teacher and coach Timothy Williams. The indictment states that on, about or between June 19th and 20th the man engaged in the sexual penetration of a minor at least 13-years of age but less than 18-years of age. It also notes that Williams is at least 10 years older than the juvenile.
A press release issued on December 3rd revealed that Williams had been a history teacher at Mt. Juliet High School as well as the football and track coach. The aggravated statutory rape charges stem from a June incident at his Nashville home with a 16-year-old female student. Williams had communicated with the girl via Instagram and Mt. Juliet’s license plate camera program helped corroborate the victim’s story.
