30-year-old Zachary Shawkins was charged with harassment after police say he walked into a business and threatened a man’s life because he wouldn’t give him free cigarettes.
On October 21st, Eshetu Yelemwossen reported to police that Zachary Shawkins went to his place of business and threatened him by saying “I will kill you” and “I will slaughter you.”
According to the report, Eshetu told police this was a result of him refusing to give Zachary free cigarettes. He said Zachary’s statements made him fearful for his life.
On December 7th, Zachary Shawkins was arrested and charged with harassment. He was later released on a $500 bond.
