30-year-old David Whitaker was charged with harassment after police gave him multiple chances to stop, but he returned to his ex-girlfriend’s residence multiple times in one night and harassed her.
On November 29th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 1428 11th Avenue South. Amirra Johnston told officers that she and David Whittaker got into an argument earlier in the day and he was at her residence again. The officer stated that this was the third time law enforcement was called to this location due to Whitaker banging on their front door and yelling.
Officers also observed Johnston be in an emotional state after Whitaker repeatedly showed up to her residence throughout the night despite police efforts to keep him away. Johnston’s mother also lives at the location and told MNPD that she did not want Whitaker at the location since he was causing such a disturbance. Whitaker was told several times that night to stop coming back and did not obey the officer’s demands.
David Whitaker was arrested and charged with harassment causing distress. He was later released on a $2,000 bond.
