Woman jailed after OnStar shuts down stolen vehicle during police pursuit

33-year-old Sundee Mcclain was charged with theft of a vehicle, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, evading arrest with risk of death or injury, and drug paraphernalia after she led police on a vehicle pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

On October 29th, Metro Nashville Police officers were dispatched to the Mapco located at 2406 Elm Hill Pike in reference to a stolen vehicle. OnStar had advised Metro Nashville Emergency Communications that a vehicle reported stolen earlier that evening was parked at the location.

Upon arrival, officers observed Sundee Mcclain enter the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers attempted to block the vehicle in but Mcclain was able to escape and refused to stop when the officers tried to pull her over. Mcclain continued to evade arrest running a stoplight at Briley Parkway and Elm Hill Pike. The pursuit continued until OnStar was able to remotely shut the vehicle down. During a search of Mcclain a glass pipe was found on her person and it was discovered her license was suspended.

Sundee Mcclain was arrested and charged with theft of a vehicle, reckless driving, evading arrest with risk of death or injury to third parties, driving on a suspended license, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $23,000 bond.
