Man admits to smoking meth after police catch him stumbling into traffic

39-year-old Nicholas Simpson was charged with public intoxication after telling police his skin felt like it was on fire after smoking meth.

On November 3rd, Metro Nashville Police Officer Keegan Winchell reported to the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Donelson Pike, where multiple callers reported a potentially intoxicated man walking into traffic. Officers made contact with Nicholas Simpson, who stumbled off a curb, into traffic, as they arrived.

Simpson admitted to doing methamphetamine earlier that day and told officers his skin felt like it was on fire. Officers also observed he was unsteady on his feet as he spoke with them. Simpson was determined to be a danger to himself and to others and was taken into custody.

Nicholas Simpson was arrested and charged with public intoxication. On November 4th, his case was dismissed.
