40-year-old Jantail Barbee was charged with domestic assault after she punched her cousin in the cheek while trying to de-escalate a verbal argument.
On October 3rd, Metro Nashville Police Officers were dispatched to 754 Moormans Arm Road to a domestic disturbance report. Mechelle Crutcher reported she and her cousin, Jantail Barbee, were at 2006 Ashton Avenue where a conversation escalated into a verbal altercation.
When Mechelle went to calm the situation, Jantail struck Mechelle on her cheek with a closed fist and started to pull her hair. Mechelle was able to break free and leave the residence. When she returned to her home, she contacted the police to file a report and a warrant was issued for Jantail.
Jantail Barbee was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
