Man strikes nurse assisting him out of wheelchair

66-year-old Larry Brown was charged with assaulting a health care provider after hitting a nurse in the head as she tried to help him out of a wheelchair.

On October 12th, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to a call about an assault that happened at the Tristar Centennial located at 2300 Patterson. When the officers arrived, they met with Joseph Montalbano who is a security guard for the hospital. The security guard told officers that he and Mary Gay, a nurse at the hospital, were escorting Larry out in a wheelchair before the assault.

Mary then told the officers that Larry hit her on the side of the head with his fist when she went to help him out of the chair. When question by the police whether he hit her two or three times, Larry stated that he only hit her once.

Larry Brown was arrested and charged with assault on a health care provider. He was freed on pretrial release.
