Trio steals Toyota Corolla from Walmart parking lot

36-year-old Brian Riley, 41-year-old Lora Pope, and 30-year-old Jeremy Brown were charged with theft of a vehicle after they were caught by police inside of a stolen car and was caught on video in the act, per report.

On August 24th, officers were dispatched to Walmart at 3458 Dickerson Pike in regards to a motor vehicle theft. Brian Riley was caught on camera along with Jeremy Brown stealing Julio Cesar’s vehicle from a Walmart parking lot. Later, Riley was seen walking near Maple Street and South Gallatin Pike. Officers performed a terry stop. During the stop, officers located the stolen vehicle and Brown. Walmart has video evidence of both men being at the scene when the car was stolen which was reviewed by detectives.

Police at 124 Lanier Drive spotted the stolen blue Toyota Corolla while conducting the terry stop for Riley. When police found Brown with the stolen vehicle they also charged Lora Pope because she was the driver at that time. Pope stopped the vehicle and was taken into custody without an incident. Brown was told to get out of the vehicle multiple times and refused. When police attempted to forcibly remove him from the vehicle he resisted more.

Brian Riley was arrested and charged with theft of a vehicle. His bond was set at $10,000.

Lora Pope was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $3,000.

Jeremy Brown was arrested and charged with theft of a vehicle and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $12,000.
