Burglar falls from bicycle that he stole from woman’s apartment

35-year-old Mohamed Farah was charged with aggravated burglary after he was found lying in the street because he fell off a bicycle that he stole from a woman’s apartment.

On August 15th, police responded to a call of a man lying in the street with a bicycle. Upon arrival, it was noted that Mohamed Farah had received a small injury after falling off of the bike he was riding. Guavalupe Vidal was on the scene when officers arrived and she told police that Farah had stolen the bike from her apartment. She told the authorities she had followed Farah in her car.

Vidal was with her friend at the time in her apartment that doesn’t properly lock, and she told police that she believes Farah noticed the faulty lock and took advantage of it. Vidal says the bike was in the first room of the apartment, and easily accessible. After authorities established probable cause for aggravated burglary, Farah was taken into custody.

Mohamed Farah was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary. His bond was set at $15,000.
