Man caught with 15-year-old runaway girl hits three vehicles during escape

19-year-old Skyler Whitefield-Brewner was charged with leaving the scene and contributing to the delinquency of a minor when a mother caught him with her 15-year-old runaway daughter and he damaged three vehicles while escaping with the child.

On July 3rd, officers responded to the report of a 15-year-old juvenile runaway on River Bend Road. According to affidavits, the missing juvenile’s mother, Rigena Lawson told authorities her daughter left home 2 days prior. Lawson advised she came to check for her daughter and observed Skyler Whitefield-Brewner approach the residence in an orange Jeep Renegade.

She identified her child in the back seat. When she drove next to them and the runaway spotted her, Skyler proceeded to escape. In his flight, he hit three vehicles including the one Lawson was driving and the vehicle belonging to witness Jaqueline Hathaway. Skyler Whitefield-Brewner was already out on bond from a domestic incident in May.

On July 6th, Skyler Whitefield-Brewner was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with damage and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
