Madison woman threatens to shoot up ex-girlfriend in phone calls

28-year-old Shontel Jenkins was charged with harassment of her ex-girlfriend, Zakiya Cooper, after allegedly threatening to shoot her and her apartment. Cooper claims that the threats made her feel “distressed, intimidated and frightened.”

On May 28th, Zakiya Cooper stated that her ex-girlfriend, Shontel Jenkins, called her phone. When Cooper answered the phone, she was met with threats by Jenkins to shoot her and her place of residence, per the affidavit.

Jenkins continued with her harassment of Cooper by sending numerous Facebook messages that caused feelings of distress, intimidation, and general fear. Based on Cooper’s statements, a warrant for Jenkins’ arrest was issued.

On June 3rd, Shontel Jenkins was arrested and charged with harassment. Her bond was set at $2,000.
