42-year-old James Wentworth was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he pulled a gun on a woman trying to leave Thornton’s parking lot.
On December 31st, Tiffaney Williams was preparing to leave Thornton’s on Old Hickory Boulevard when James Wentworth began backing into a parking spot. As James backed into the parking spot, he started yelling at Tiffaney saying that she better not hit his car. Tiffaney told police that an argument between the two ensued but quickly escalated when James pulled out a gun, pointed it at her, and resumed yelling that she better not hit his car.
Tiffaney then told James that she was going to call the police and he fled the area. Tiffaney was able to obtain James’ tag number as he was leaving and detectives were able to use that information to compile a photo lineup. Tiffaney then positively identified James as the person who was driving the vehicle and pointed the gun at her.
On February 19th, James Wentworth was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set at $3,500.
