Soldier had ‘at least’ 6 drinks before starting fight, becoming aggressive with MNPD

21-year-old Ft. Campbell soldier Jamie Burton was charged with public intoxication in Nashville after he started a fight with another subject and then became aggressive with Metro Police as they interveined.

Metro Police had to intervene on December 8th when 21-year-old Jamie Burton was observed getting into a physical altercation with another subject. Officers were intervening to break up the fight when Burton became aggressive with officers. They found him to be intoxicated, smelling of alcohol, and unable to stand steady. Burton reportedly told the officer he had “at least six drinks”.

For his own safety, and for that of the public, Burton was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. After a sober-up period, he was released, and charges were dismissed.
