Drunken man rushes police from behind, wipes out seconds before impact

Metro Police say a drunken Eric Law, came running up behind them while their backs were turned to him. Just before he reached them, he tripped and fell onto the ground, admitting he’d had “a few too many”, and thought they were “someone else”.

Officers were at a location on other police business Tuesday night, when 26-year-old Eric Law began running toward the officers from behind. Law tripped and fell on the ground just before reaching the officers, and told police he wasn’t “going after” them, but thought they were someone else. Law admitted to having a few too many, and smelled heavily of alcohol, and was unsteady on his feet, according to an arrest warrant. He was placed under arrest, charged with public intoxication.
