Police arrest biker who struck police van downtown: Quintin Whitman

Quintin Whitman, 32, was arrested for his role in the massive ATV, quad, and motorbike takeover of Nashville this weekend. Metro Police say he struck a police van while driving the wrong way on Broadway, on Saturday. He had amphetamine pills and marijuana on him at the time of his arrest.

Metro Police say Whitman was among a large group operating motorcycles, ATVs, and other vehicles downtown on Saturday. Quintin Whitman was observed by officers doing wheelies and weaving in and out of traffic, without any regard to safety, according to an arrest report.  Whitman struck a police van while driving in the wrong direction on Broadway, in an effort to evade police. Upon a search of his person, police found amphetamine pills in his jacket pocket, in addition to marijuana.

Whitman is charged with two counts of drug possession, reckless driving, and driving without a license. He posted a $6,000 bond, and was released from custody just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning.
