Metro Police arrested Rivergate GameStop employee Colin Beason Monday for felony theft, after he admitted to making fraudulent returns in the amount of $1,750.00.
GameStop District Manager Jason Byrn and a Loss Prevention Officer discovered the fraudulent transactions and called police. Records show that Colin Beason would enter a return into the register that didn’t really exist, and pocketing the cash for the non-existent return. A total of 12 transactions were found between 11/06/18 and 01/09/19, totaling $1,759 in lost cash to the business.
Under Miranda, Colin Beason openly admitted to the theft, and was taken into custody. He is free on pre-trial release, and is scheduled to appear in court March 1st.
