DCSO Inmate found with needle and 15.2 grams of heroin in his cell

28-year-old Brett Jacob Nichols, who is currently serving time in a Davidson County Jail for violating his probation, is now also charged with possessing drugs in jail, after officers found a needle and 15.2 grams of heroin in his cell at the Hill Detention Facility.

DCSO Deputy Harold White was conducting a ‘security round’ of the inmate’s cell on January 15th, when he located a needle and brown powder substance in the cell of Brett Nichols. Nichols disclosed the substance was heroin, and White contacted MNPD to collect the contraband and file charges.

Brett Jacob Nichols was currently set to be released on May of 12019 on his current charges, but is now also waiting trial for this new felony charge, among others.
