Porter Rd $20K Jewelry Theft ARREST: Robert Baker In Custody

Robert Baker was arrested on Thursday morning, and charged with felony theft and violation of probation.

The theft charge stems from a 12/02 incident in which Baker was working for a moving company that was hired to pack some things for the victim/resident. The victim posted on social media about the theft:

Baker remains in jail. He was charged with the following:

  • Felony Theft >$10,000 ($5,000 Bond), and a violation of probation

 

 Court Affidavit:

On 12/2/2017, the victim had a moving company in her home at xxxx Porter Road. After they left, she noticed that she had several rings missing from a box in her bedroom closet. She contacted the owner and he stated that temporary worker Robert Baker was working in that room.
Later that evening, co worker Sharay Simpkins went to the area Baker is known to frequent and spotted him walking. He stopped and told Baker to give the rings back. Baker retrieved the rings from his pocket. They were wrapped in a paper towel.
The rings were returned to the victim. Total worth of the rings was $20,000.
A single photo of the suspect was shown to Simpkins. Simpkins confirmed that the defendant is the Robert Baker involved in the theft.
