Shute surrendered to authorities just after 8AM this morning. We first broke the story on Tuesday night –  Jermaine Shute (Starlito) was involved in a shooting of another person in a local East Nashville Restaurant, Batter’d & Fried. According to witnesses in the restaurant, the victim was 36 year old James Fletcher is NOT cooperating with police at all (likely due to the fact he’s out on a $45,000 bond for transporting 64lbs of marijuana across state lines, among other things). However the police are prosecuting the charges in this case, and not the victim.

Shute was booked at 8:49AM this morning.

Starlito (Shute) will have to appear in court for these two new charges on 09/08/2017, and he also has a court appearance on 08/17/2017 to answer to the harassment charges, which will likely be a continuance.

Initial reports were that Starlito’s was a party of 3 that entered the restaurant, however reports tonight are stating it was just Starlito and one other friend. At approximately 8:30PM a couple of men, including the victim (Fletcher) came into the restaurant – and immediately one of the two men punched Starlito’s friend. Seconds later a shot was fired, either by Starlito or his friend – video surveillance isn’t quite clear which person was responsible for firing the weapon. The victim (Fletcher) was hit in the leg, and taken to the hospital, and is expected to make a full recovery to be able to answer for his own charges.

The Director of Operations at Batter’d and Fried said the men who entered the restaurant were targeting Starlito and the person he was with. Starlito and the friend reportedly took off in a BMW Crossover, and remained on the run until now, as they evaded officers both on ground patrol and MNPD’s AirOne Chopper. Starlito was identified by witnesses using an instagram photo, but no one could confirm if it was him or his friend that pulled the trigger.

Here is his updated ‘rap sheet’ with current charges posted:
