A newly released disciplinary report shows that Registered Nurse Jessica Rayburn has admitted to diverting narcotics while working at St. Thomas West in Nashville. Her license has been suspended for a minimum of six months.
Between August and September of 2018, Rayburn, who is from Clarksville, admits to withdrawing 100mcg of Fentanyl on four occasions, in which she only dispensed half of the medication to a patient. In the same time period, she also got someone to enter a morphine order after it was denied by another practitioner. In October of 2018, she fraudulently entered an oxycodone prescription under a doctor’s name that wasn’t working that day.
In all, Nurse Jessica Maris Rayburn [IG] admitted to diverting opioids approximately 30 times from approximately 20 patients while at St. Thomas West Hospital in 2018.
The State Board found her guilty of unprofessional conduct in October of 2019, and suspended her license for a period fo six months, and required her to complete 20 hours of continuing education ethics classes, and a $1,000 fine. Rayburn has the option to enter into the TnPAP (Professional Assistance Program) to have the possibility of her license being fully reinstated upon recommendation. Jessica Maris Rayburn was granted a Tennessee nursing license on June 21, 2012. A copy of the disciplinary report is below.
