28-year-old Trish Patel is charged with felony aggravated burglary after she forced her way into an East Nashville Home and attempted to steal a dog named ‘Kovu’, which she freely admits she had previously given to the new owner six months prior. When confronted by officers, Patel fully confessed. She was charged with aggravated burglary and booked into the Metro Nashville Jail. She is free on a $2,500 cash bond.

ON 1/1/2022 OFFICERS WERE DISPATCHED TO 240 TRUETLAND AVE. OFFICERS RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VICTIM, ALEXANDER AUER REGARDING A DISPUTE WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF HIS DOG (THE DEFENDANT, TRISHA PATEL). OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH THE VICTIM WHO TOLD OFFICERS THE DEFENDANT GIFTED THE DOG TO HIM APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS AGO. HE STATED ON 1/1/2022 THE DEFENDANT KNOCKED ON HIS DOOR AND WHEN HE CAME TO THE DOOR THE DEFENDANT FORCED HER WAY PAST HIM INTO HIS HOME AND BEGAN TRYING TO CALL FOR THE DOG (NAMED KOVU) WITH THE INTENTION OF TAKING THE DOG. HE STATED HE BELIEVES THE DEFENDANT LEFT THE HOME BECAUSE THE WITNESS BEGAN CALLING 911. OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT WHO ADMITTED TO GIVING THE DOG TO THE VICTIM. THE DEFENDANT ALSO ADMITTED TO PUSHING HER WAY PAST THE VICTIM INTO HIS RESIDENCE IN ORDER TO TRY AND TAKE THE DOG. |
