25-year-old Ryan James was booked on an outstanding warrant today, charging him with vandalism after he is alleged to have caused significant burn damage to the seat of a car by setting it on fire, and with domestic assault, after he repeatedly struck his girlfriend in the face and in the back of her head when she told him she was breaking up with him.
Ryan James was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 20th on outstanding warrants stemming from an incident that happened in July of 2020. Arrest warrants detail that his girlfriend was breaking up with him while they were sitting in her vehicle, at which time he threatened to beat her face in if she continued to break up with him, which she did.
The victim says that Ryan James then ripped the rearview mirror from the windshield, and use a lighter to ignite the front seat of her vehicle, causing significant burn damage, according to investigators. He then struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist, then struck her twice more with a closed fist to her face after she attempted to go inside the residence to alert his mother.
James is charged with domestic assault and vandalism, and is free on a $4,500 bond.
