Teens exchanged messages before the murder of EJ Utley, jealousy possible motive

EXCLUSIVE – Scoop: Nashville has obtained messages exchanged between 15-year-old murder victim EJ Utley and his accused teen killers Wilton Alexander & Trameisha Farris. It appears Trameisha met with EJ under the pretense of having sex, and her boyfriend (and EJ’s cousin) Wilton is alleged to have then killed him on his own porch when she visited. The messages are unclear if the pair pre-mediated the event together as a setup, or if Wilton gained access to the private messages and sought out the location where they were meeting.

Messages were provided by a relative of EJ (Edgar Utley), one of which he interacted with Trameisha seconds after the murder, in which she tells him “plenty of people had my password” when he mentioned his brother might die and he could see she was the last to visit him. The messages are NOT in chronological order, due to the method in which they were received. Messages are from the viewpoint of EJ’s account – chatting with Trameisha’s account. Some of the messages appear to have been from Wilton, who may have been pretending to be Trameisha by logging into her account.

Warrants charging Trameisha Farris and Wilton Alexander with murder were issued late Friday. The pair remains at large at the time of publication. If you know their whereabouts, please call 615-752-7463, Nashville Crime Stoppers.
