36-year-old Anthony Daniels was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and interfering with a 911 call after strangling his girlfriend when she was trying to leave their home during an argument.
On August 18th, officers responded to a call at 2742 Cobs Drive for a domestic disturbance. Anthony Daniels and Erica Grant are in a relationship and were arguing. Grant said something that caused Daniels to get angry and slap her across the face. He then took her phone to stop her from calling the police. Grant tried to leave, but Daniels put her in a chokehold to keep her from leaving.
She told the officers that she was not able to breathe but did not lose consciousness. Grant tried again multiple times to leave the house, and again Daniels strangled her to keep that from happening. She again said that she could not breathe but did not lose consciousness. Grant had a scratch on her right hand.
Anthony Daniels was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault for strangulation, false imprisonment, and interfering with a 911 call. His bond was set at $55,000.
