Investigation by MNPD Fraud Unit detectives resulted in today’s arrest of Nashville Fire Department firefighter/EMT Robert Reasonover and Sumner County EMT Tyler Rathert for stealing from a private ambulance service where they engaged in secondary employment.
The two are accused of logging into the accounting system of American Medical Response, the parent of Lifeguard Ambulance Service, on various days in 2018 and claiming hours that they never worked. The company alleges that Reasonover was fraudulently paid $10,786, and Rathert $5,991.
Reasonover, 41, who lives in Manchester, and Rathert, 29, who lives in Nashville, are both charged with felony theft. Rather is free on pre-trial release, and Reasonover just posted a $10,000 bond, and was in the process of being released as of 7:30 p.m. tonight.
